16+ (I think) I worry constantly that I don’t feel the same levels of arousal as other people, I see on tiktok all the time girls describing they’re vagina feeling like a heart is beating down their when they’re aroused, however I don’t think I’ve ever really felt that?? I then of course start to worry I’m gay/ asexual :( i never know if people over exaggerate when describing arousal and crushes online and it freaks me out

I’m the same! There’s even been times we’re I was about to be intimate with a guy but I couldn’t stop overthinking and was so full of anxiety I had to stop! I think sometimes we’re our own worse enemies haha

I guess so, but at the same time people are saying this happens to them over random videos of people haha, I dunno if it’s because my attraction has gone slightly due to ocd or because I’m still a virgin

@MelodyOCD for me it doesn’t and i felt the same. i didn’t feel it until i met my current boyfriend. people are different and you might just be someone who needs it to happen in person and not by video

@A Yeah maybe you’re right, I’ve always wondered if maybe I’m just not a very sexual person just because I’m inexperienced, before ocd I used to swoon at videos and pictures of guys I fancied, now I just feel numb and emotionless (except for anxiety of course haha) :(

@MelodyOCD im dealing with the same thing! ive never really been a sexual person so it’s still new to me but you know it yourself when you’re ready to take it there

I am 19! So we are in the same situation haha.. I also feel embarrassed and I think it’s because of HOCD and because I am scared to tell a potential partner.. I have never had a long lasting relationship and I fear I will never experience true love. And my hocd likes to attack that I have not find a man yet because I am in denial.:) but as you said, we are our worst enemies

@🥰 I think and feel all the same things!! I get so scared I will be alone forever and never have true love too, it sucks I feel you :( every time now I go on a date/ kiss a guy or whatever my brain goes into overdrive haha! I sooo wanna be one of them carefree girls who goes on tonnes of dates and falls in love so easily, it’s my dream haha!

@MelodyOCD yes!! I have struggled a lot with those thoughts. I have been really scared to be asexual because I tend to reject all the guys who want to be with me. and I have to be honest to say that the problem is not that no one likes me because people are shocked when I tell that I have not had a boyfriend and am a virgin. I don’t know why I don’t want to be with someone, I just assume that I am picky and love being alone in my own company. I have a tendency to be shy too around guys and I struggle with anxiety.

@🥰 I’m the same, I’m very much in my comfort zone being alone as being in a relationship is like unknown territory to me and anything new really gives me anxiety! I also struggle now that I’m 21 it seems the only way to meet guys is online and online dating is terrifying to me! Meeting up with someone I don’t know at all and has no mutual friends sets off all kinds of warning signs in my brain haha. I guess I’m just scared that everything means something about myself and my sexuality all the time, reading stories about people realising their sexuality and looking back on their life and realising the “signs” always terrifies me so much, now I think everything I do think is a sign haha

@MelodyOCD same here. I used to seek out how to know that one is asexual, lesbian, bi, etc. and I used to destroy myself by continuing to seek and doubt myself and my whole existence and life. right now i'm in a better place, i'm trying to manifest a good life and focus on other things. I believe and hope that the reason I have not found anyone is because I have always had that attitude.

@🥰 So glad to hear you’re doing better!! I’m currently in therapy with NOCD and practicing erp, it’s slightly helping but I’m still constantly m trying to work out my thoughts (my biggest compulsion lol). Did you have therapy to help you feel better? :)

@🥰 when I was at my worst I sought one out on an online dating website, and then I was with him I was really anxious when we were in bed. then he said; I do not feel that you are interested, I then told about my situation, and then he said; maybe you are asexual? and then I cried for several days and it was absolutely awful. I'm glad I got over it but there's still a voice in my head that says I am

@MelodyOCD No I haven’t, I am from Norway so it’s difficult to find a specialist in ocd

@🥰 Awh I’m sorry that happened to you and it upset you! I think people forget how much anxiety effects our bodies, especially in sexual situations, it can be really hard for us to switch our brains off and relax when in high anxiety situations- I guess that’s why I’ve always wanted to get to know a guy before sleeping with him, I need him to understand I might be nervous and I need to go slow!

@🥰 Yeah I’m from the uk and it’s quite difficult here too, I’d have to travel to city centres and pay loads of money, I felt so happy when nocd started in the uk, hopefully it won’t be long until they can branch out to other countries too!

@MelodyOCD Do you struggle with having female friends? I struggle a lot with that Because i am scared that the girl will say she is in love or something and i am also scardd Because i feel like it means we are in a romantic relationship which i reeeeally dont want!

@🥰 Yeah sometimes! For me being around any female can kinda trigger intrusive thoughts, even being with my mum weirdly :( think that’s fairly common tho!

@MelodyOCD Yeah, ugh it has been a little hard today tbh.. it has been very relieving to share with someone Who dels the same way. I Get triggered by tv shows, friends, social medias and so on.. everyday!
