This video was so helpful! I have been getting less anxiety but sometimes especially with sexual stimuli it makes me feel like that’s then what I want and then I get so confused and the anxiety comes back

@222 How far along in recovery are you? Have your doubts subsided

@Anonymous im not far along at all (at least w my therapist) but I have been dedicating a lot of time on my own to reading books + doing workbooks which have helped tremendously. my doubts are still there, as I have learned they probably always will be but we just have to learn how to sit with that and not react to it and overtime more clarity will come

They don’t have to make you anxious. When you are in recovery or even close to recovery they don’t make you anxious

@Justmesadly Yeah I hate my thoughts

@Sympathy I think a majority of us do

do you still ruminate or perform compulsions around the thoughts?

yes

Also can I ask why the thoughts are enjoyable and why you feel it’s wrong to enjoy them?

they are enjoyable because even though i don’t want them to be enjoyable, i feel my body enjoying them & i can’t find reassurance for my fears. it’s wrong to enjoy them because they are scary and i don’t like them

@lmaocd🍓🥰 Ah well anxiety and attraction can be pretty difficult to distinguish from one another, if you truly enjoyed it your mind wouldn’t have so much fear towards it. There comes a point where no amount of reassurance can ease your fears because that’s just how ocd works.

@Pinklotus idk it’s just gotten to the point i can’t come up with any reasons and then my groinal responses get so strong i can’t ignore them so it starts to eventually feel really good n then even though i don’t want to enjoy the thoughts it just rlly is like i am

@lmaocd🍓🥰 especially since i don’t even get anxiety until maybe minutes later

@lmaocd🍓🥰 But you do get anxiety and groinals can be extremely strong because you’ve wired your body to become so alert when they happen. :( I hope the video that was linked helps as I also sometimes feel that I’m enjoying the thoughts
