27 here. Starting treatment next week. Have an internship this summer and nervous to be away from home for so long. Currently obsessing about whether I can handle working full time and living alone. I’ve had ALOT of themes. Was diagnosed at 9 but never got treatment

Im glad you are getting the treatment you need now and hopefully your therapist can help you battle those fears. I know its scary but best of luck! Youre already on the right path by applying and getting in to that intership

I'm 28, married, and have a career but I struggle a lot in private. I was only diagnosed recently but knew something was up around my early twenties. I seem to struggle with multiple themes, including existential OCD/meta OCD, POCD, and sensory OCD. I have a puppy and unfortunately the OCD latches onto him but I'm realizing I can still enjoy him and have OCD.

Im so sorry that ocd has latched onto your puppy. It really is true what people say that ocd attacks the things that you love. It realy has taken a hit at my identity and i struggle as well. Im glad you’re not letting it push you away from hanging with your pup though. That’s great and in time we’ll be able to make it to where we are in recovery from ocd

I’m 24. I’m about to graduate in a month, and my ocd decided to flare up three months after having covid. I’ve had every subtype. The current ones I’m having that are pretty severe are Harm ocd, magical thinking ocd, and contamination ocd on top of a quarter life crisis so a lot of existential themes are coming to play too

I can relate greatly to this magical thinking ocd is my main theme and contamination is right up there as well. Im in my last year of school but had to take a breal from ocd. Even after though i have no idea what i want to do. Lately my themes have been shifting lots though which makes it difficult. Im sorry you had covid but congratulations on your upcoming graduation

I currently volunteer at a hospital and have taken a year off from uni to decide what I want to study. I’m leaning towards mental health.

@hanajade Nice Jade that’s pretty awesome of you. I’m trying to figure out what i want to do with life as well! Best of luck to you and if you could what are some tips for recovery?

@Coul.C Tips for recovery would be to stop compulsions from low anxiety to high anxiety and let your thoughts be there and keep preserving.
