i broke down in front of mine and told him how i was questioning but was confused bc i wasn’t interested in girls and he’s the one i want. i do not recommend doing that actually but if you can’t explain it well, send articles of hocd

I also agree. I’ve found that articles are the best way to get across to a loved one what’s going on in your head without sounding crazy, haha. I’ve shared my OCD with one or two friends, and used articles to help them understand. My parents have unfortunately been suffering through SOOCD alongside me for 10 years (with long periods of remission)!

@Ope Yeah it’s really crazy. I can’t wait for my next period of remission. I’m really looking forward to getting better. I feel ready to work hard and get sh*t done because I dont want to live like this any longer.

@Ope Mine was also practically nonexistent in college except for summer breaks. I think it really helped being surrounded by tons of young people. Now I’m pretty isolated and I’m ready to go back to school...thankfully I start medical school in the fall. I want to be in a better place for that.

NO WAY. It’s kind of comforting knowing we’re both on this medical/OCD torture journey together! But yeah I’m kind of terrified for obgyn... I don’t want to have panic attacks because my patients trigger me so badly! I just want to be a good doctor and help people Lord have mercy 😭

@Ope I know what you mean! Like some of the obsessive-compulsive parts of my personality really make me who I am but when the OCD really takes over I’m like a different human being. I really am a shell of myself right now, and I’m looking forward to feeling like me again. Hopefully soon. I would also REALLY like to get my attraction to men back. Like really badly. Lol.

@Ope Except OCD will never pick a side 😂 it will just constantly switch it up on you to keep you on your toes which is the WORST. I’ve never been in a dating relationship with a guy so I worry about that A LOT, but at least I don’t have to worry about cheating on anyone so I’ll take what I can get
