Stop analysing yourself and looking for signs, it's a compulsion. It won't make you better. Accept the possibility that you could be bi/gay. It's scary, but that's the way it should be handled. Don't worry because, the time will come when your mind will all be cleared again...

Thank you for your help, I know that’s what I should do but it’s so difficult. Have you also been through this?

@MelodyMoo Yeah, my ocd thoughts haunted me 24/7. And it's the same theme as yours. :( Trust, me you'll get through this ^^

@trcyzennie🌱 I’m so sorry you you also go through this, I hope you’re doing well! It’s a nightmare isn’t it, doesn’t help that my anxiety has reduced loads but all the thoughts and compulsions are still there

@MelodyMoo I'm also sorry you have to go through that, I'm doing well! It's indeed a nightmare but I managed to wake up from it! I pray you will too! I also lost my anxiety but my thoughts and compulsions remained. It was awful. But, it won't always go that way. It has an end too! Trust your therapist and I'll pray for your recovery! ^^

@trcyzennie🌱 I also have lost anxiety quite a bit it feels really real. Do I just continue with my life and say maybe maybe not to all the thoughts ?

@lkkkk1234 Yeah, I experienced backdoor spikes quite often back then... they were like, zero anxiety. I never felt anxious by the thoughts at all. Accepting uncertainty was a big help too.

Scanning for signs is a compulsion. Resist or reduce compulsions and the thoughts tend to be less sticky.

My therapist tells me this a lot, it’s like I do it subconsciously tho, it’s really hard to stop :S

@MelodyMoo Definitely hard to stop! But it’s possible, just have to be aware and consistently work on it.

@Anonymous Hi I’m really sorry if what I said triggered you in any way! It’s a common intrusive thought of mine, and is probably nonsense like the rest of my thoughts, I agree go with what your therapist says!

I feel exactly the same. I get this awful feeling of doom like multiple times through the day that I’m just gay and I can’t do anything about it. It makes me feel so trapped and awful. It makes me cry.

I’m so sorry :( I get what you mean by that doom feeling, like I literally feel it throughout my whole body, even when I’m not getting intrusive thoughts. It sucks

@MelodyMoo Yep like sometimes when I’m having a good day and haven’t thought about it I’ll suddenly remember and be like shit

I get this feeling all the time. I often wonder if it were true, would we “forget” and feel that doom when we “remembered”. Like someone who has accepted their gay or straight, probably doesn’t just randomly remember, right?

@anon1234 Yep I also think if it were true you wouldn’t obsessively think about it 24/7
