I can’t ever differentiate between it being a compulsion or it being something I just do because I like it. I feel like a complete fraud and feel like there’s no way I can’t be gay. Everytime this happens, it sets me back like 10 steps in my recovery.

It happened to me from times to times but with males. It's probably not that you like it just think that OCD is the dount illness so if you see something and then question it you will most likely fall into the usual loop "am i gay or not". Whay I do now is simply dismissing it whenever I can.

@Anonymous Yeah I’m coming to the end of my allocates therapy sessions with nocd now. That was deffo a fear for me and still is really! I think we gotta remember that everyones recovery time is different, for some it’s weeks for some it’s years- and it’s all okay! I still struggle with my ocd even though I’ve had treatment, however I have to look how far I’ve come, and even tho I still have times where it feels like it’s all true and I’m crying and panicking, my recovery time from these “episodes” are sooo much faster than they were before treatment. And I now also know how to treat my ocd, and how to do erp, which I didn’t before! So yeah sometime treatment doesn’t equal a cure, it more equals feeling a little better and taking the first steps in handling ocd :)

@MelodyMoo I am really thinking along with treatment to take medication as well. Medication at least quarantess relief. I am in a stage where i have an intrusive thought because of a past sexual fantasy and my mind is telling me it will pop up iny whole life and i will never be able to live happily. It terrifies me to the bone. Have you ever had any intrusive thought like this?

@Nick I’m also thinking about going on medication, I was adminent about doing therapy first tho, as now I can manage the thoughts a lot better, but the anxiety feeling I have all the time keeps bringing me back. Yes I’ve had something similar, think everyone with this theme has haha! For me it was I was (tmi lol sorry) aroused by a sexual scene on a show involving two women, and it kinda spiralled from there. I now have the mindset that of course that was gonna happen, I was watching soemthing sexual! Our brains often react to anything sexual haha, doesn’t have to be of anything in particular.
