Great drug, I take 10mg a couple of time a day. Eradicates all physically symptoms. It’s non addictive and actually good for you! Providing there are no side effects. Which I don’t have.

You’ll find once the physical gets sorted the mental becomes so much easier!

I spose but being jittery makes that the focus?! If I could remove that. I could focus on recovery - I like to think ?!

Belly breathing. Mindfulness when I remember or actually get time to. My job is high stress and that’s the problem. What do you do?

Had this, cured it with Inderal/Propranolol. Small dose takes away the physical symptoms of anxiety, no jitters. In the end you forget about it.

You don’t! Time heals, it’s hard.

I did five years trying to tough it out, in the end you are fighting adrenaline which is a drug, so why not use a drug to counter act it. You can work on the reasons it happened etc once you have calmed down. In an anxiety state nothing is rational.

Many individuals with anxiety disorders are stuck in a perpetual state of “freeze-fight-or-flight” as a result of an overactive sympathetic nervous system. This leads to an increase in stimulatory neurotransmitters (e.g. norepinephrine, dopamine, etc.) and hormones (e.g. cortisol). Studies suggest that propranolol decreases sympathetic activation and is an effective agent for combating sympathetic hyperactivity. As a result, individuals using propranolol report reductions in physical symptoms of anxiety and stress. The high blood pressure, muscular contraction, and heart palpitations associated with sympathetic activation – typically decrease after propranolol administration. Propranolol attenuates the fight-or-flight response in a dose-dependent manner, which in turn minimizes somatic anxiety and may also improve certain psychological aspects of anxiety via decreases in catecholamines

In my opinion it’s a wonder drug.

The issue is not the jitteriness right? It’s the obsessional worry and focus on it I guess.

How do you manage the jitters?

Anxiety comes with the illness. When I has it bad the washing and checking made me more nervous.

I manage my jitters with klonopin. Need to get more active and do mindfulness. I also have trauma from childhood abuse so I’ve always been jittery

But my ocd gets jittery and obsessive about the jittery feeling, as though it’s permanent and somehow dangerous. That’s irrational

Ugh I'm exactly like this right now! I get so worked up I then have panic attacks. Never ending loop.

Thx Tally Ho! I’ve been on klonopin for 22 years and have been seeking an alternative to at least help the physical agitation and anxiety. I’ll discuss with my psychiatrist. Best!

If you have no access to propranolol etc. How else do people sort the physical symptoms?

Hi Tally Ho. Thanks so much for this. Does the propranolol help with feeling edgy and agitated? I have that as part of my depression, ocd and anxiety. It’s an inner feeling of agitation. Can propranolol help with that, in addition to jitteriness? Thx again. ??

Absolutely! You have the same as me. Inner restlessness.

By feeling that inner agitation, your brain tries to come up with why you’re feeling like this. OCD sets in because you always feel agitated/restless/anxious. Take away the physical and the mental will follow.
