Yeah, i had this happen a long time ago. It will not be your reality forever. You just have to recognize that your ocd is making you have these worries that "what if everything is a dream and my brain is on autopilot and it will be like this forever!" So you need to do erp and sit with the anxiety. Say to yourself " yep my brain is probably going to never get better, maybe I'll be crazy, maybe i won't" then just try to let these thoughts flow away and move on. When they come back, try to react the same way "yup, there it is again, I'm going to always be paranoid and in a dream, i love this feeling!" Eventually your brain will get tired of trying to scare you with this thought when you react in this way. Also thc seems to take a couple weeks to really get out of my body where my brain feels "normal" again, think of it like a long mikd hangover so it will get better, and in the mean time just try to do other things and do erp on this. You got this!

👆🏼This is perfect! No matter OCD or not or what kind of drug, it’s always good to have someone remind you it’s not forever.

Thank you so much for this perspective. It really helped me to look at the experience in a different light. Sometimes having hope from other people is strong enough to give me some sense of hope as well even if I don’t believe it yet.

Me. I had a cbd gummy that had thc in it and I did not know. It was literally the worst thing to happen at that time. It triggered undiagnosed ptsd and caused my current ocd flare up. I will never touch any of that again

Ugh, it’s the WORST. I’m sorry you’re going through it too, but hopefully we can both find peace in the fact that we’re not alone. Literally wish I never smoked 🥲

Just an FYI from someone who also unknowingly digested THC, it can affect you so much differently when ingested than inhaled. It’s known to be more psychedelic that way!

@ARTnotOCD Yeah and I dread ever taking it I’m super sensitive to edibles but this one really took the cake

I’m also on Zoloft, so I feel like my brain is noticing the effects of that and tricking me into thinking something is wrong when my body and mind are just healing. Does anyone else experience this with medication?

Yeah, i mean this sounds similar to your main worry. I have these obsessions to surrounding thoughts like "what if something is wrong with my brain and being hyperaware of it" then you probably seek reassurance that you're going to be ok which only helps for a little bit bit then makes the ocd stronger in the long run. Just keep going back to the erp thoughts i mentioned up above "yup, maybe my brain is broken, maybe it's zoloft maybe it's not" etc. The more you try to figure out out that's just your compulsion (mine is researching the internet too lol so i get it. ) you can do this! :)
