If you stop paying attention to it, it will go away. It takes time but it does go away.

Can I ask what yours feels like?

It’s like a spike of a sensation :/

@Anonymous Sorry if this is too graphic, but mine was like... “a pulse”?
- Date posted
- 4y
@missbluesky It’s okay! And maybe? Because it’ll only happen once. So like a single pulse. I’ve seen people say that it feels like a pulse.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous EXACTLY. one pulse!
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous I worry because I got these responses very young and thought it was arousal...now that I’m older I know that it’s not and that arousal is other things besides a single pulse lol

- 4y
@missbluesky I wish I knew that 😭 (like in my head becuase of the OCD lol)
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous Well I don’t actually know that lol or I wouldn’t be compulsively asking other people what their groinals felt like lol

@missbluesky Sometimes I really just want to give up and stop caring but because I keep getting scared about how ill feel once my boyfriend comes back down (he’s in the Air Force) I want to figure literally every question out. And the groinal response affected me the most. I just don’t want to lose my relationship because of this

@missbluesky True I’m sorry 😭

@missbluesky Just wanted to say I also experience it as a pulse, sometimes a single pulse, sometimes a few and I have no idea if that’s real arousal?
- Date posted
- 4y
@b13 Yeah like how are we supposed to tell if it’s real arousal or because of anxiety?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous Here’s my predicament: I got these “pulses” before I even started testing myself. They just, like, appeared one day and then HOCD started. they’d happen to literally every woman, clothed and in non sexual situations. I thought it made me gay and I still obsess and worry that it’s real arousal or it WAS and now I just suppress it.

@Anonymous It’s so scary! I know that I like men. I know I do. But there are so many lesbians who were CERTAIN they liked men and then ended up just having comphet. It doesn’t help that I’ve only had sex 2 times and I didn’t really like the boy I had sex with.

@Anonymous I’m really worrying now because I have a lot of stereotypical bi traits :(((
- Date posted

@missbluesky I know it’s hard but I don’t think you should worry about it. There’s so many people in life that seem a certain way but actually aren’t
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous But it’s like...I’ve had this obsession since I was 12 and then coincidentally grew up to fit bi stereotypes? Like that doesn’t seem like coincidence

Accept that the groinal response means you might be gay and do nothing about it. But you truly have to accept it as a possibility

Can anyone help me to stop groinal hyperawareness when exposing myself to triggering images?? Every time I look at them I get groinal hyperawareness and it’s such a pain that every time I look I can feel literally everything down there😔

How strong does the groinal response feel for any of you? I ask this because I genuinely cannot tell the difference between what is a groinal response and what is true arousal. A lot of the times the groinal response feels even stronger than true arousal. On top of that, the more taboo or disturbing/graphic the thought (particularly with POCD), the stronger the response/arousal is. Is that normal? I'd like to hear any of your experiences on the topic.
