Generalized Anxiety Disorder is just as serious of a disorder and can cause just as much levels of distress and over thinking and even more so depending on the individual. OCD has prevalent and evident themes that are the root of the discomfort. That's close to the only major difference between the two. It's also possible for someone to have both GAD & OCD.

yes, that is possible. sometimes i feel the same way. part of my ocd is constantly doubting is i am “ocd enough” to really have it. we are.

Hi! I’m a therapist and I also have OCD and have had GAD in the past. I think before looking into GAD we need to rule out if you are doing mental compulsions, because the treatment for GAD and OCD are different. Mental compulsions are things you do in your head that keep the thoughts alive. Mental checking, reviewing, trying to collect information, self reassurance, scenario twisting, etc. check out this article and all of the other amazing articles on this page
