OCD latches into whatever it can to get you to succumb to it. You did a great job by detaching from those thoughts and letting them pass. I also suffer from SO OCD and something that really helped me was that “just because I have the thoughts, doesn’t mean I have to identify with them… because they’re just thoughts”. Your brain is overprotective like all of ours, and it will latch onto what is easiest to keep you questioning and doing compulsions. Do you have an ERP therapist?
