hey! i know it’s really difficult. as humans we just need to know things that are uncertain. it’s in our nature to ask questions and find things out. but right now, you need to fight against that part of you. tell yourself “maybe i am this sexuality or maybe i’m not! i’m going to resist these compulsion”. and i know at first it will feel pointless, you will feel as if it won’t work but trust me it does. there was a time i was consistently resisting compulsions and doing erp and i got so much better until i got scared and disheartened due to my erp heirarchy getting harder and i completely stopped. it does get better, you just have to be consistent. i know you are more than capable, you simply asking this question right now shows it <3

I’m having a big OCD relapse and would like to hear anyone’s tips on how to be present and healthily deal with these intrusive thoughts and the “need” to preform compulsions. Thank you!!

I’ve been feeling the urge to avoid intimacy or purposefully engage (for reassurance that I won’t give into a compulsion) because of intrusive thoughts and fear that I’ll “check/test” my reactions. My OCD is making me so scared that I’ll purposefully think of a child and try to see if I like it. It’s so complicated but I guess I’m mentally checking if I would mentally check during intimacy. I’ve even envisioned myself checking and it’s making me so nauseous. I know it’s a compulsion like any other but the sound of “touching yourself to the thought of a child” sounds atrocious and vile. I’m terrified I’ll automatically start checking next time I am being intimate. I truly feel so worried. If anyone has gone through something similar, I’d appreciate hearing your experience. Or if anyone has any advice?

Anyone else with HOCD get thoughts of like "people in denial try to distract themselves" or anything along those lines when just trying to move on from the thoughts. Having a pretty bad episode this morning at least anxiety wise.
