I personally think it is normal to obsess that long. I have had pOCD for that long, too, along with contamination OCD. I'm sorry that you are suffering for this long. :( I hope things get better for you!

To answer your question, it is normal to obsess that long! And you’re not fearful anymore because you got use to it! That’s actually the whole point of ERP. Same with thoughts. A lot of people will start having the thoughts with out the anxiety or rumination and then get anxious that they aren’t anxious. That’s the back door spike. It’s just showing that you’re getting use to the things you were afraid of.

@ocd_sufferer8 Yes! Because when you don’t react to your thoughts and etc then you don’t experience the anxiety and then you won’t want to ruminate and then things will start becoming more clear! Everybody’s timing is different though :)

@Whyyocd Another weird thought, I just remembered that when I was little I used to make all my barbies have sex. Now I'm like ugh. Yep. More on to the plate 😒
