My therapist gave me tricks to focus my mind on something else like counting the alphabet backwards or naming an animal for every letter.

Yes. I’m still fighting it, along with other ocd themes. Although I still have obsession pop into my head, rumination tricks have helped me stop ruminating about HOCD things though
