It’s quite automatic. It’s just when you catch yourself ruminating don’t actively continue with it. Don’t take part in the internal conversation. Let the thoughts come and go themselves. I find it’s easier to be mindful while doing things. Catch yourself ruminating, go and do something you need to get done. Embracing whatever feelings or thoughts arise but not actively contributing to the conversation consciously

I too have a hard time “just stopping”. Some people love Dr. Michael Greenberg, but that doesn’t really work for me. Mindfulness is the closest thing that helps me

So maybe the title wasn't the best to to put it but when you guys start having obsessive thoughts how do you stop them before it turns into compulsions and anxiety?

I have pure ocd i think , i always gotta make sure i do certain things like tap things , light switches on n off , shut things few times and re open them till it feels right . Walk in a room go back out and back in out in in till my mind is right Its exhausting

How can I deal with False Memory OCD? I am struggling with ruminating thoughts, and trying to figure out false memories! How can I enjoy my day without figuring it out?
