On Zoloft, 150. Just moved up from 100. So far I’ve been doing so much better, with minimal side effects. I feel like it’s so much easier for me to let go of thoughts and erp is easier to do. Just day to day life has become easier and more enjoyable. Life is starting to feel more like an adventure. As far as numb- I just watched an emotional episode of squid games, and balled my eyes out. Pretty sure I’m not numb 😂

@bricady (she/her) Hahaha! Exactly !… and no, I don’t feel like it makes me dissociate. Obviously everyone responds differently. But honestly, anxiety made me dissociate more than medicine. I will say it is causing me to forget bad thoughts quickly. Which is a good thing, but it’s also weird foreign to me, and feels sometimes uncomfortable. I think if I didn’t have the insight or mindfulness, I would assume it was a problem of some sort. But I notice it’s just an adjustment period for me.

@bricady (she/her) That’s the point I was at. I could take some possible side effects from it, if it means I get control of this anxiety and ocd

Hey! I’m currently on Zoloft and I find it helps me quite a bit with minimal side effects. Just remember to take it daily, missing a few days causes me to be dizzy and spiral downward. I just started therapy so if you’re currently getting help I’m sure it will be amazing for you!

@bricady (she/her) For me it helped a lot with my intrusive thoughts. I was able to manage them a lot better and my overall mood improved. I could still be doing better but I believe that’s only because I wasn’t seeing a therapist and getting help. Medication can only do so much is what I was always told and I guess they are right haha

@mich7 YES lol i definitely hear that. I have many therapists surrounding my life rn lol. i have a talk therapist, and this new OCD specialist, and now i just found out my gym offers therapy on wednesdays. i also do believe therapy+ medication is the best solution

@Michy I guess i’m a little hesitant just because of the side effects. and i’ve read that it makes people feel “numb”

@bricady (she/her) I totally understand the uncertainty and worrying that’s completely normal especially when trying something new. If it causes that I would talk to your doctor and get switched to a different medication. I was on a couple different ones (because I’m allergic to everything 🙃) until I found Zoloft and it’s working well for me. Just go into it with an open mind and try to not let the stress take over. Way easier said than done I know! But you got this! I believe in you! And YES SIS!!!! Take advantage of that therapy!!!

For starters I was on this medicine before i remember the first few weeks were very scary and debilitating. I don’t remember why I stopped taking it , it was about 7 months ago. but I just recently started back because my ocd and anxiety has been off the chain. I keep having bad thoughts about the side affects and I’m terrified like “ what if I have a seizure” can anybody share an experience? Anyone on Zoloft here. Thanks !

Hi everyone, I’m new to the community. I was diagnosed with OCD just a couple of months ago and have been doing some reading and other research to try and understand the disorder. With this, I have been actively seeing a great therapist who has been helpful to build tools to deal with my intrusive thoughts ( contamination OCD is my worst theme). Do help learn to deal with the compulsions, I start on Sertraline or “Zoloft” I believe since November 2024. Currently I’m on 50mg and have been doing this for just over a month. My question for those who are also taking Sertraline and it has been successful, how do you know it has really provided a benefit and how long did it take to get there? I sometimes feel the medication works, and sometimes I feel it doesn’t (maybe that’s my OCD trying to mess with things). Thanks!

So I have been diagnosed with GAD and OCD and my psychiatrist prescribed me with zoloft 🤔 but I dont know im really hesitant to start medication because im scared of the side effects and ik afraid of relying on a medication for a long time. Does anyone else take zoloft? What is it like? Any side effects?
