Are you talking about the TMS therapy with magnets?

It works for some people. No need to be discouraging.

@autisticclare I'm not sure where you got your stats because I did a little research and see the success rate, meaning complete remission of symptoms, is at least 50%. The rate of people who felt it worked, but not complete remission, was around 75%.

Brain surgery for what exactly? Removing or altering a part of your brain would cause brain damage most likely and wouldn’t help your OCD. Well, unless you become a vegetable.

I'd suggest talking to your psychiatrist about a referral. I've only done 3 treatments so far out of 30+, so it's too early for me to give any reviews. My fingers are crossed though.

They don’t really practice lobotomies anymore but TMS uses magnets and has shown evidence based results if you have the $ for it

Hiii - hope everyone is having a good day! Has anyone found any type of medication or supplements helpful with thinking sooo deeply about everything and intrusive thoughts? I’m in therapy + doing erp but my brain in this relapse of ocd just thinks sooo deep into my brain and i can’t seem to not to do it pull myself out. Like I’m just paranoid. An example would be if i simply look at my arm I’ll think so deeply about it like what’s under my arm what’s it look like inside etc. but if anyone not in this cycle looks at their arm they’ll be like hmm ok cool my arm and move on w their day. Just looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience of what I’m feeling rn.

Can it? I've had it for 5 years, not just in the background, fully severe and acutely crippling. I can hardly go through life, my memory and cognition are very poor, I struggle with comprehension and have difficulty thinking clearly or having conversations to people about everyday things. Like I can only narrate my ocd thoughts in my head, regular thoughts take too much brain power to think about. I have very high anxiety and depressive feelings also. I'm just worried my brain is structurally changed from this ongoing traumatic experiencs and when I'm in my late 30s or 40s it's going to evolve into neurodegenerative diseases. I want to get a brain scan done and see if everything is alright. What kind of doctor or tests would show me that?

I really do want to go to therapy or psychiatrist to diagnosed my OCD and give me a treatment but it costs a lot. OCD ruins my life and consumes my mind I wish I can take a break from my own brain. Having OCD but undiagnosed feels like I’m crazy because people think I made that up but they don’t know how I’m struggling since I was a kid. So anyone have an advice for treat OCD especially checking OCD that doesn’t cost money? because I don’t work yet..🥲
