Swim through the uncertainty. Tell yourself that this thought doesn't matter, it will pas and you will be fine. The uncertainty will still be there, you will feel as if you're jumping from a plane not knowing if the parachute will open or not, BUT TRUST ME IT OPENS. I had a similar thought before I left for a school trip, but I tried as much as possible to dismiss the thoughts. You can get easily distracted by surrounding yourself with friends! Talk to them, be aware of what's going on around you. It's going to be really really hard, but it will get better as you practice it more and more. Take care!

I see you asked a similar question awhile ago. You really need to practice the ERP people are suggesting to you to be able to get better. Reassurance seeking isn’t going to help you unfortunately. I’m sorry your going though a hard time with this thought.?

Even though the thoughts came up after the school trip ?

Yes! You have to show your brain it is totally okay to be uncertain. You don't have to know everything and that's okay! Maybe you will have times when you will experience relapses, but you have to make sure you continue the work

Yes the school trip and thought is the ERP you need to practice living with not knowing if you were molested or not. I having ocd have to live with not knowing the answer to things that worry me all the time.

Even if you don’t have OCD it can be a problem with people with anxiety to look for reassurance too because it is feeding your anxiety. The anxiety of not having a diagnosis too can be stressful. If you got the diagnosis you can move forward to treatment that will really help you.

@girlie Thank you for your replies!!Thaerefore ,I should stop asking anyone about this thought and just accept uncertainty ?as I’ve really want to stop having this fear

Yes! Exactly, it will get easier the more you practice. By doing that your telling your brain your not in fear and eventually that concern won’t register as a fear anymore. Also reassurance seeking is the compulsion you’re doing for the obsession of being molested. That’s what people with OCD do is obsess about something and do a compulsion to relieve that anxiety.

This is reassurance seeking again which is a compulsion. Practice instead to be uncertain like I said above.
