I just want to tell you that you should try to relax. Those are just thoughts and if your boyfriend loves you he will accept you as you are. I know it can be distressing but remember that you should not hide yourself and all your struggles from him actually he should help you going through this:)

Well as far as I could understand from your post he knows that you have ocd. But if he doesnt I would try to tell him it is something important. I dont have a girlfriend but I told myself if Im going to have one someday I will tell her about my ocd, some years ago I could never imagine that I would tell this someone but I also didnt accept that I have ocd today I accept and try to live with it as well as I can and I also would tell other persons about my ocd.

I’m sorry you’re struggling, o have been there! And I still do struggle from time to time. It is important to NOT share the specifics with your significant other as that can most likely turn into a compulsion!! If you feel compelled to share your thoughts, you have to resist otherwise things will get worse for you. I promise I’ve been down that road. One thing you can say is “I’m having a hard mental health day” and allow him to comfort you without sharing your specific thoughts!! This is very important to remember

What happens if you share specific thoughts

@charissepisces2021 It causes unnecessary harm to your partner because it can be hard to understand. I wouldn’t blame someone for being hurt if I told them I was questioning my love for them. Yes, they should support you but that doesn’t mean they should have to be okay with hearing the hurtful things we’re thinking. It can also turn into a compulsion. A lot of the times sharing the thoughts feels urgent like you HAVE to because the anxiety is so bad. It’s okay to share that you’re struggling just don’t expect them to understand and not be hurt if you share specific thoughts.

I wouldnt say that it causes harm. Of course I wouldnt share all ocd thoughts but telling my partner that doubting her love for me would be okay. The most important thing in your relationship should be that you dont suffer alone without your partner knowing it.
