A good example would be the fact that you’re happy with your life. Imagine you had intrusive thoughts that made you question that happiness with your fiancé . Suddenly you spend all day questioning whether or not you want to be with your fiancé and whether you’re even attracted to them. Your partner makes you so happy that this would be an extreme blow. This is how it is for rocd/soocd sufferers. Often they’re in a relationship with their desired partner or wanting that in the future but can’t achieve it due to their crippling anxiety and intrusive thoughts that they must be with another gender. It’s not rational, but ocd isn’t logical either.
