Ever since my Intrusive thoughts and anxiety has gone through the roof I’ve been feeling like that every now and then, it seems to be pretty common though, I’ve read a few people who have mentioned similar things.

@Bl997 Yes!!! It sucks, but I know several can empathize with us. I’ve felt depersonalized with a flare of derealisation for around 7 months now and it is hard.

@ac (she/her) Any tips for dealing with it? Mine tends to come and go? I think it’s because of all the trauma we face with intrusive thoughts, it’s our body’s reaction to dealing with it

@Bl997 I totally agree! It’s so hard to just “allow it to be there” when it can be so uncomfortable, but I have read and found that not fueling it or trying solve it is best. Apparently it can be a “protective mechanism” due to stress, anxiety, etc. just like you mentioned!

@ac (she/her) That’s so helpful, thank you, I’m glad I’m not the only one. I hope 2022 is a better year for us 🙌🏻

@ac (she/her) And also yeah, I’ve found the same, just let it pass and usually I start to feel better after a few hours or a day

I was diagnosed with OCD around the age of 6, subtype- contamination primarily. It calmed down as I got older and I assumed it had gone away, but also didn’t realize it can show up in other ways, and it still had been effecting me which I know now. I’m not 31 and I’ve been in therapy for a year and it’s helped a lot, although I sometimes get thoughts that what if some of the stuff I’m dealing with isn’t ocd and I’m exaggerating. I feel like thoughts will feel sticky and I’ll do certain compulsions but then the thought eventually vanishes if I do it a few times which makes me think maybe it’s not OCD since other people/friends I know would probably do the exact same thing. Not sure if I’m making sense, but I guess my question is if that thought comes up with anyone else? Just being unsure if something you’re doing actually is ocd or not.

I haven’t posted here in a while but I just wanted to ask a question. While having ocd is it normal to have days when you don’t feel like talking to anyone even if you wanted to? I have felt this for a while and I can’t figure out why do I feel like that. Usually I’m a very talkative person and even when I don’t feel like talking to anyone I always talk to my boyfriend but now even talking to him feels like a burden and I just don’t understand why. This situation has also made my intrusive thoughts even worse:( Idk what to do and what to feel like, I’m feeling kind of empty and emotionless. I was diagnosed with ocd some months ago so I’m kind of new to all this stuff and that’s why I’m asking. I don’t want to ask questions in a compulsive way and I try very hard to avoid it if that makes any sense. I would be very grateful if someone could answer me:)

Is it normal when you’re sick that thoughts become more intense and feel more true? But you also feel like you don’t care ?
