ERP dude, human brain works on a fundamental principle," What you try tk resist , persists" . So stop running away from your thoughts, courage should be our pursuit when we are dealing with ocd. Just allow your thoughts to enter into your consciousness and follow the following steps 1 . Label the thought as Intrusive thought. 2. Remember, they are just junk thoughts manufactured by brain, which is pretty normal and happens with everyone, we( ocd people) make it bigger when we couldn't stop giving reassure to our brain. 3. Accept and allow the thoughts, that means just let your thoughts stay present in your head, don't try to push them away or engage into them in any manner. Just listen to your thoughts, effortlessly. 4. Observe them, and observation needs to be passive, non judgmental and non engaging, imagine thoughts like mental events performing on stage and your watching them from a distance. 5. Allow the time to pass, don't hurry. Just let your thoughts stay present as long as they happen to be. 6. Keep doing what you were doing before and letting the feeling of discomfort stay present. Just try to tell yourself that’s it’s just your OCD, that’s what I do…it’s very hard I know, I just got diagnosed with it and I’ve been struggling, mine is harm so relentless thoughts of hurting myself, I know where your coming from

Accept it - so what? The only way to beat the ocd is to see it eye to eye, accept its irrationality for a moment as truth, and have the courage not to care (which you do!)

Realize that it's ok that you are not ok. Tell it to yourself. Anxiety is telling you that you better pay attention but it's a lie. You are not your thoughts doesn't matter how real they feel. You are the observer. The fact you get distress about them it's proof that you are not them and you never will. You don't need to fix your thoughts. You need to love and be compassionate with yourself. Don't judge yourself harshly. Don't be unkind. None of that is going to help you. And you don't deserve it for any thought that crosses your mind. Again you are not your thoughts. You are not alone. Feeling anxious is normal. It will pass. Don't be in a hurry or question yourself in a bad manner for what you are feeling. Breath. Remember you are just the observer. What you feel it's the interpretation of what the thoughts might mean but they don't mean anything. Everyone, even people without OCD have intrusive thoughts. You are not alone. Accept yourself right where you are and exactly how you are. That will not mean in any way that you agree with the thoughts. It just mean that you don't need to judge yourself, fix yourself or condemn yourself for them. Hope this helps. Virtual hug 🫂
