I'm seriously struggling with false memory OCD. They have completely overtaken my brain and made me think I am an awful person. It seems as soon as an interaction ends or I walk away false memories start to get implanted inside my head, and they start to override everything inside my head. It's actually awful and I feel totally paralyzed by them. I don't know what to do anymore as I can hardly live my life in peace anymore due to my ocd.
ocd can be very difficult at times. the more u ruminate and think of these memories/events the more uncertain u'll be. you'll doubt urself and ur memories, ocd sucks. from experience, the mere thoughts that I'd get, whether they were real events, false memories, or intrusive thoughts clouded up my brain. they still do, i was so close to giving up multiple times but im choosing to try. and i hope you're trying to, because you deserve to live a happy life. and i believe that you can get through this.
Me too, I always think I said something really horrible to a stranger instantly after walking or driving by them
How can I deal with False Memory OCD? I am struggling with ruminating thoughts, and trying to figure out false memories! How can I enjoy my day without figuring it out?
Hi, I’ve had ocd since I was 12 but the hardest theme I’ve ever encountered was false memory ocd and POCD. I’m convinced I’ve molested children and people and it disgusts me to my very core. Is there anyone else going through this? I really need to talk to people who are going through the same thing as me and can share their story because I feel so along in this false memory cycle because it feels like a real memory and I feel like I’m tricking everyone around me into thinking it’s false. Please help
Hey all, I've been okay for a while, but today I'm having a hard time with my sexually-themed false memory thoughts and the compulsion to try and "figure it out". While I've learned enough over time that "figuring it out" doesn't work, I'm just feeling extra overwhelmed today. Stuff that happened over 7 years ago is really getting to me, I'm in this limbo state just sitting here with it all but... ...anyone have any general tips for false-memory OCD?
