can anyone relate??

so i’m a 20 year old straight female .. and honestly when it comes to sex i don’t care for it unless i’m really aroused but i mostly just don’t really care for it like i can go a while without sex without feeling like i need it and when i do have sex though i do enjoy it but i never have an orgasm. not that that matters but is there anyone else doesn’t really care much for sex? i love my partner so much we have no issues so it has nothing to do with our connection but then the ocd side of me is saying "well what if it’s cause you aren’t attracted to him" "what if it’s cause you want sex with a girl instead" and i know that’s not true at all but these thoughts don’t stop gosh i hate ocd

31 year old hetero female here, and I also have a naturally low libido—right now. It’s higher some years and lower some years. I’m just trying to go with the flow and accept it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So many factors effect it that I can’t control.

omg! so many amazing people have weighed in on this w amazing advice and comfort, but i thought i’d just add onto it :). sex is personal to EVERYONE. i think ocd tries to tell us that there’s only one “correct” or “right” way of doing or feeling things. one of my boyfriend’s friends (who’s a straight man without OCD in a 2 year relationship w a girl) said to my bf once “yeah i dont really like sex, it’s just okay”. i think the media sets us up to believe sex is supposed to be this magical thing you wanna do all day and night. ocd makes us think if we don’t go along with what porn and movies show us that that means there’s something wrong with us (cue SO-OCD and ROCD)!

I experience all the same things, 20 y/o straight female here. I'm in a 2 year long relationship right now and I really don't get aroused and I don't enjoy physical touch in general. I get those thoughts as well but I've been doing exposures for it in therapy lately and it has helped and made me understand that just because I may have a low sex drive doesn't mean I am not meant to be in a relationship!! If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here :)

@16_cynthia We did one where I had to write a "script" about what would happen if we broke up and all the thoughts and emotions I would go through. The goal was to stay disconnected from the "script" as it wasn't real and was purely fictional. This has helped me because now when I get those unwanted thoughts about us not being together I don't get as anxious because I have already explored the topic and fully understood why I don't want that. It may sound counterproductive but it really did help! I also watched break up videos with the goal of not connecting or relating and simply watching. Not connecting to breakups and relationship stories is good because it doesn't allow your intrusive thoughts to thrive

I am the same. It’s something my ocd latches onto. I also fear for intrusive thoughts of other people during sex and it just makes the experience even worse. Would love to talk more to understand how you all cope with this!

Im a 22 year old straight male and this happens with me except i finish but i also deal with intrusive thoughts of men . I really hate all of this but then i cant help but look at men now and i get anxious from it. Its all ocd

I think if you are happy and content then its fine. This tends to happen the longer of being together with someone anyway. If you want maybe tell yourself its ok if you are or are not attracted to girls either way you accept yourself unconditionally. Giving ourselves permission to exist exactly as we are, and giving less importance to the doubts, can help :)

Lately i've been having low sex drive and i dont know why. I thought maybe i dont feel attracted to my bf anymore, we have been together for 3 years now and I do love him but this year I felt less "sexually". Quarantine hit me hard the first months with ocd but now i feel better. I started to think that maybe I'm asexual and it makes me sad cause my bf has very high sex drive so I would have to break up with him and I don't want to :( I do masturbate sometimes but I don't feel that sexual attraction towards my boyfriend (or anyone) like the first year. So idk if it is rocd or I'm asexual or just stressed and depressed. It's exhausting

I’m genuinely starting to wonder if I have ocd at all . It seems like I have such intense desire for the things I don’t want and no desire for men at all. Men don’t turn me on and I haven’t enjoyed being with them for a very long time. I’m genuinely starting to wonder if this whole time I’ve just been suppressing my genuine sexuality and pretending it’s ocd.

I don’t know what to do anymore.

Hi just for reference, I’m a girl, I’m almost 17 and I’ve been boy crazy for pretty much all my life. I- I don’t even know what to think anymore, I identify as straight and enjoy thinking about men sexually and emotionally, but I can also masterbate to women weirdly enough? I’ve been diagnosed with pure ocd and I have no desire to have any sexual or emotional relationships with women in real life, and I’ve had hocd for over a year now, but I can masterbate to weird things sometimes and I know I’m not supposed to but I compulsively search things up very often and from what I’ve found most people would say that it would mean that I’m bi. The idea of being bi or gay has made me hyperventilate and cry god knows how many times, at this point I wouldn’t even be angry if I was bi or gay but I know that I’m not. My head keeps telling me that since I can masterbate to gay thoughts or lesbian thoughts sometimes that it means that I’m not straight even though I have no desire to do anything even remotely close to that in real life. This is one of my worst themes of ocd so far as compared to other people who have hocd they don’t get turned on or finish thinking about these things and I do but I don’t identify as bi or gay. I just, I don’t know what to do anymore? I was hoping someone on here goes through the same thing? And I’d really rather not hear that it’s just me denying it, I have a few people I talk to and occasionally when I bring it up they just say I’m in denial so I really don’t know what to do anymore.
