By being in denial, do you mean that being in denial about having false memory OCD and thinking you actually did the things that your mind leads you to believe. If that is what you are asking, then yes. It is a horrible and scary feeling. I feel like crawling out of my skin when it happens, which the frequencies range. It is a living hell when it does occur.

Yes, the thought that I am in denial is common, and has been through my 15 years of the condition. Our brains are incredibly creative, and thus, the possibilities created in intrusive thoughts are equally as creative.

Yep, definitely. And this is doesn't only happen with real events ocd, but with nearly every pure o theme.

Has false memory OCD affected you so badly that you feel that a lot of your memories period are unclear, vague, fuzzy and can’t recall correctly?

I have had the same false memory/instrusive image of me doing something horrible to someone when I was 12 and they were younger. It is a memory based on a real event. I truly don’t know if it’s real or not but obviously, the more I think about it the more I think it’s true. This has led my mind to become slightly paranoid. I worry that if this horrible image in my head is true then one day the person I might have hurt will come and k*ll me. I’m really scared I feel like I won’t feel better as long as this “memory” is in my head. Does anyone have advice?

can a false memory feel very very very real? because i literally don’t know if something happened or not. absolutely no clue but it feels so real
