Zoloft users
Hello fellow Zoloft users. I started taking Zoloft for my anxiety, OCD, and depression. Any luck with the Zoloft? Did it help?
Hello fellow Zoloft users. I started taking Zoloft for my anxiety, OCD, and depression. Any luck with the Zoloft? Did it help?
It was like night and day for me. I can’t function without zoloft, life changing. We’re all built different and it may not be as effective for everyone, but I hope it can help you as much as it helped me :)
@EvanHood Which dosage and how long did it take to see positive results? I’m worried I cannot function when I get off Zoloft
@G. Z. L I was 13 so this was loooong time ago. They started me on 50mg and positive results kicked in the 1st-2nd weeks, but it wasn’t strong enough so I went up some gradually. Now (6 years later) I’m on 200mg. Medication is a personal journey, but there’s nothing wrong with needing help from a pill to balance your brain chemicals. For me, it’s a permanent aid and I’m okay with that. It’s rough when I forget my meds, but I have got the routine down pretty good. I also take other medications that mix with zoloft btw.
@EvanHood Oh man, well I’m glad you’re doing good! Keep going!! :)) Keep pushing
I am now on 4 weeks with zoloft and so far so good
@BeingMEwithOCD Full effect already?! I get the “what ifs” a lot
@G. Z. L No I totally am still struggling I just haven't had any bad symptoms. But I'm hoping for the best!
@BeingMEwithOCD Good luck and I hope Z helps in the long run!
Zoloft is great! It really helped reduce my symptoms, especially my anxiety. I’ve been on and off it a few times and it always worked for me- but everyone’s experience is different. So see how it goes in a few weeks!
@blazed That’s good!! I always worry if the meds will work and how long I’ll have to use them
@G. Z. L Generally it takes up to 6-8 weeks to notice a difference. I didn’t feel much on the lower doses but 100mg was when it started working well for me. And it’s up to you on how long you want to use them! I know there’s a lot of stigma and shame around them but if you need them to feel better then that’s perfectly okay too!
@blazed Hopefully I feel it sooner than later. I’ve read online that Zoloft sometimes stops working for people. Which worries me but that’s my anxiety lol
@G. Z. L Oh yes that can happen but I wouldn’t worry about it :) I take mine with another medication so I think that helps with its effectiveness. But it worked just as good when I was taking it alone too!
@blazed Which other one for future reference lol
@G. Z. L Wellbutrin, it does wonders for depression
@blazed I’ve heard and read about a combo of Z and Wellbutrin works well.
@blazed Did you ocd come first or depression?
@G. Z. L My depression came first but I also have social anxiety so that’s why I take Zoloft too. I’m not diagnosed with OCD yet but my psychiatrist upped my dose because I told her about my intrusive thoughts 🥲 but it really does help to tone down the thoughts
@blazed I started with health anxiety or health ocd, then panic attacks, then intrusive suicidal thoughts and finally depression 😂 But no ocd diagnosis smh
I ampak on Zoloft for 10 years now. It works fine. I am on 100 now been on 150.
@Majchy1981 Is it holding up good?
@G. Z. L So far so good😊
Zoloft was personally hell for me but I heard it helps for so many. Lexapro works for me!
@Taylor10 Too many SE? How long on Lex?
@G. Z. L Yes, I stayed on it for about 8 weeks and there was no relief. The anxiety became out of control. I had to take a benzo (klonopin) just to calm my nerves which is something I wish I never had to do.. and I just could not sleep. I JUST started back on Lex, but I’ve been on and off of it for years… always had a great experience with it. Only SE was weight gain. But if I make an effort to exercise often that isn’t much of an issue.
@Taylor10 Yeah the SE on Z for sure kicked my ass, it’s true about feeling worse first then good. I’ve heard lex is good ssri. Yup o gained weight on Z too
Hi everyone, I’m new to the community. I was diagnosed with OCD just a couple of months ago and have been doing some reading and other research to try and understand the disorder. With this, I have been actively seeing a great therapist who has been helpful to build tools to deal with my intrusive thoughts ( contamination OCD is my worst theme). Do help learn to deal with the compulsions, I start on Sertraline or “Zoloft” I believe since November 2024. Currently I’m on 50mg and have been doing this for just over a month. My question for those who are also taking Sertraline and it has been successful, how do you know it has really provided a benefit and how long did it take to get there? I sometimes feel the medication works, and sometimes I feel it doesn’t (maybe that’s my OCD trying to mess with things). Thanks!
So I have been diagnosed with GAD and OCD and my psychiatrist prescribed me with zoloft 🤔 but I dont know im really hesitant to start medication because im scared of the side effects and ik afraid of relying on a medication for a long time. Does anyone else take zoloft? What is it like? Any side effects?
hi! i was wondering if anyone here began treatment using sertraline and then got off of it later? im just curious about other people's experiences using if for their ocd and if they eventually got off of it or are just taking it indefinitely. Thanks!!
