Tips on breathing OCD ( sensorimotor)
It's been a while since my last post here. I wanna share some tips about this subtype that used to haunt me in the past. I used to be hyperaware about my breathing. I would manually control it all the time. The more I tried to escape it, the worse it would get. I realized that the problem is not controlling it, but the fear behind it. I started manually breathing on purpose, as an exercise. I wanted more and more. Within a couple of weeks, my biggest fear became a powerful technique for meditation. Instead of pounding heart, night sweats and intense fear, the control of my breath became an effective mindfulness tool.
