Do yall get dreams and feel it was a message from God or a higher up to do something and you panic because you dont want yo do it but what if your disobeying God or your in denial and that dream was a message, and what you want isnt what you want. I was actually ok in this type of ocd for a while and this dream came and now im back to zero and worried and scared idk what to do. Anyone have this?
I would feel this too and I still do, even tough it's weaker now. Realising it's OCD is really hard because we don't want to disobey God. We can't be sure it's not Him so we ask "What if it's truly God" and that's how the cycle goes on. All the time. I always think “what if it’s a sign” and will dwell. I have to remind myself that the only thing God wants is for us to live in the present. If you are a Christian, the Bible says “live in today” that tomorrow has enough troubles. Honestly I don’t think we are meant to know or figure it out. We are only meant to put one foot in front of another. I hope this helps !

I try to pray to God and trust that He knows my heart, and has grace for me if I ever mix up my OCD and His actual will for me. I believe He knows I’m learning to have faith outside of OCD, and wants me to heal- and will forgive me where I misunderstand!
I read somewhere once someone saying to remind yourself that odds are, God doesn’t want you feeling this way either- and has mercy for if you ever misunderstand and make mistakes in the pursuit of healing. Having faith is a journey- and the wonderful thing about His Grace is that we don’t have to be perfect! Jesus gave more than we could ever sacrifice as a gift for us, so that we may make mistakes and learn and grow and He knows it takes time! God gave us so many gifts to heal and overcome OCD and if we get a little mixed up in it, well, we are only human- and He knows that, and loves us anyway! Isn’t that awesome?
That is an awesome response! I just recently I’m dealing with what I think is a problem with existential OCD. Not fun! It’s a deep, dark hole of revolving thoughts the terrify me. It’s tough when you don’t know another single person dealing with the same thing! Makes you feel very small and alone. Don’t really know right now how to get out of this cycle of fear and emptiness. I am happy that I found this site, with people of similar circumstances.
I don’t have it in dreams but I’ll have it where I’m going to do something inconsequential like make breakfast and I’ll feel like God is telling me to skip it as a sacrifice to him. I read something on a scrupulosity site about how God is not going to worry about those things in our life and we can be pretty sure it’s OCD if there’s nothing immoral or anything about it
@OCDMM Sometimes i feel like if i wear a crop top God is looking down on me and dissapointed even if its a crop top that you can barely see my stomach or like dreams that i have to do something because its my purpose but i dont want to do it what if im in denial or disobedient and that panics me.
Not necessarily dreams, but thoughts that I should be doing much more. I’m in the middle of a terrible crisis right now. I’m questioning everything right now and it’s terrifying. Are the things you’re dreaming about doing, some thing not good? What are the types of that you think God is telling you to do? Do you not want to do them because they are out of your comfort zone? Sometimes they are the best things we can ever do.

Im not 100 percent sharing on what it is but its not nessasrly bad but it’s something i dont want to do not because its out of my comfort zone but because its not something i want to do in my life and but im afraid that if im jot going to do it im disobeying God or im not going to ever be fufilled but ik God knows my heart and he wants to give me clarity and peace but theses thoughts are not giving any of that
Anyone that believes in God is going through the same thing. We all question that the things we do or just for ourselves or they are meant for the purpose of our life. If there is any question in your mind at all, then you may have to sit on it for a while. There’s little voices in our head, sometimes are meant to make us reevaluate what is truly going to be meaningful in our lives, as well as serving a bigger purpose. My thoughts right now, or not giving me peace or clarity as well. I believe these things happen sometimes, because we need to reevaluate our lives and be reminded of what is important. I truly believe that many circumstances in our lives are not meant for the good of us but for the good of others. A lot of times we are put in uncomfortable circumstances for a reason. It’s not always about disobeying God, but that this decision may have been put in your path to bring you to a higher place. We are all human, and very flawed. Maybe whatever it is, you’re contemplating doing is a test. Maybe it’s a door that is being opened to take you to a place of peace and clarity.
(Pocd) Please help me!!! I'm a Christian and as i've mentioned before Ive had mind chatters where i tell God to confirm if im a pedo or not by me hearing about a pedo getting delivered (and it actually happened because a user on here who's a good friend of mine shared a story about that!!!) And ive also mind chattered to Him to lemme know thru a dream and it just happened too!!!. I literally feel hot right now and I feel so much doom because I just woke up and dreamt something about a paper like a test having the word pedophilia in it I think it asked "do you have pedophilia?" with a fill in the blanks answer and the word "truth" was written as the answer ? these are just too much coincidences for it to not be God actually telling me. As we Christians know, there are no coincidences in God and that scares me even more!!. I always tell Him " don't listen to my mind chatters you know they don't come from the heart!! The reason I mind chatter about things is because I'm scared of them actually happening!" But now I'm starting to think my mind chatters are so much more meaningful than i thought. Maybe it wasn't even a dream and I just pictured it while being asleep and awake at the same time since my ocd thoughts wake me up night sometimes? Or am I just in denial to try to calm myself down? Omg how can I forget about all this I really don't wanna relapse ...
Sometimes I have thoughts that I would normally assume to be ocd, not sound like ocd. I start to think/feel that it's God telling me to do these things?? I then end up feeling guilty for not immediately implementing these things into my life. I hate that so much of what used to feel like ocd seems unclear. I don't feel like a good person. I know a lot of sermons aren't made with ocd in mind, but I feel like I'm not listening to God if I don't listen to thoughts I would've thought were ocd before
so you know how the more you have an intrusive thought, the more likely it is to show up in your dreams? well coming from someone who is atheist/agnostic and is skeptical on some holistic/spiritual takes on things, i am having a difficult time wondering why my intrusive thoughts are showing up in my dreams the way they do. once i wake up, whether it’s right afterwards or later in the day, i’ll remember the part of my dream that is totally fueled by an intrusive thought. unfortunately it’s not pleasant and very upsetting. so, how do any of you deal with this? i get worried and wonder if it has something to do with my subconscious trying to tell me something/having a spiritual meaning or a higher power trying to tell me something. these are super common ocd subtypes too so i know it’s that. i just struggle sometimes with the rumination.
