I've been on it for about a couple of years. Some times I think it's helpful, but I'm really not so sure - I still deal with pretty intense anxiety and rumination. From what I understand, zoloft is an 'energizer' as opposed to a medication like escilatopram which i was on for about a decade. It worked until it didn't (although the side-effects of fatigue was challenging). Ultimately, i had to switch to something else, which ended up being zoloft. That said, drugs affect every person differently. Wishing you well!

Hi I have rocd and Iv been on Zoloft for about 8 months now. The first few weeks I had some side effects but it went away. It has definitely helped me a lot but what I have noticed for me is that it blocks my emotions. I feel numb most of the time. It’s great because I ruminate less and have less anxiety but having less emotions can get frustrating when dealing with rocd. Everyone’s different though. I haven’t heard any bad things about Zoloft so far:)

I started off on 50mg of Zoloft, and it didn't seem to do anything for me at first. But the doctor slowly increased my dosage over months, so now I take 150mg of Zoloft a day, and I notice a huge improvement in my symptoms. Everyone's experience is different. For me, I was afraid to try higher doses, but what finally convinced me to try it out was knowing that I could always change my mind and come off the medication if it had any negative side effects

So my doctor is starting me on 25 mg of Zoloft soon and I'm actually really exicted. I'm finally ready for this to be manageable. I know it's not a cure but I am told that zoloft is primarily recommended for specifically ocd. I'm not sure if I'm ready to start it tonight but yeah. Please do not tell me any negative side effects or anything related to nausea since I'm taking it for emetophobic contamination ocd and I don't need any opinions to make me biased but if any of yoy had SUCCESSFUL zoloft stories please comment!!

I have tried a few different kinds of antidepressants over the years, but it's always been hard to find one that works well for OCD and doesn't have horrible side effects. Does anybody have any recommendations of one that worked really well for depression and OCD??

Hello last year I had gone thru a very rough time In my life where I needed to be put on Zoloft 50mg around march 2024. I was diagnosed with anxiety, depression and OCD. Ive been suffering from OCD since I was like 11 and depression since I was 19, but I never sought help until last year Im 27 because I knew I needed it to help me get thru life. I was on 3 months on Zoloft and I went to a trip to Miami which honestly helped me so much, I honestly attribute that trip to Miami in healing me more than the Zoloft it self. I met my current girlfriend there. After coming back I felt like a new person. I still kept taking the Zoloft 50mg until late April (2025) this year when I decided to tapper down to 25mg by my self without a doc recommendation, I didn’t feel anything during the month of may this year until like may 30th when I woke up in a panic and I felt like I was back at square 1 before I started Zoloft. Mind you ive been thru some life changes, I recently graduated RN school and my gf moved in with me. Ever since the end of may I’ve been very anxious, my OCD is on high gear and my depression too. I went back up to 50mg I’m seeing a new doc, my questions is has anyone gone thru a similar situation? If so what helped you and how long did it take you to stabilize ?
