Do other women with HOCD experience false attraction to the same sex?

Yes but now my mind is like how do you really know?? It's bcos you have never experimented or been around the right people. How are others living bcos I am not.

Have you began therapy for it??

@Anonymous I’m in therapy now but it’s not really ocd centered. I’m still trying to figure it out. My therapist said I’m probably heterosexual and just like to fantasize about same sex.

@norx Hmmmm I see. Does your therapist treat conditions such as anxiety at least.

@Anonymous Yeah she does. It works well but sometimes when I feel like crap it doesn’t feel like it works lol

@norx Lastly if you don't mind me asking have you ever gotten the urge or thought that you want to experiment even though you don't want. Like your mind keeps telling you that you want to do so.

@Anonymous So interestingly enough it has and I’ve even tried it. Which is where a lot of my guilt comes from lol. All I’ve done was date and never got physical

@norx But another thing that keeps me grounded for me is that I did have that experimentation in my childhood which is what triggered it in the first place.

@blazed Ooo this me as well. Right I am dealing with a portion of my ocd that is telling me that I want to secretly experiment which I don't want to nor haven't ever thought of doing ever since the soocd started

@blazed I am in a relationship as well right now so I guess that is just adding to that anxiety. I spoke to my boyfriend about it in general and stuff and while he doesn't get it, he has been supportive.

@Anonymous Omg same. The thought of experimenting makes my anxiety worse. I’m glad your boyfriend is supportive though! Have you started dating him before or after so-ocd started? I’ve been avoiding dating but I know I should do it as a part of my exposure work. It’s just really hard to

@blazed After it started. I actually thought it had gone away but it started during a break from school and I was idle at home. It's come back stronger so I decided to enroll myself into therapy or at least start somewhere

@Anonymous Similarly, that happened to me too! It came, went away, and came back again months later. I also started therapy for it but my insurance stopped covering it :/ but I want to start again soon.

@blazed I hope it all works out. I am still on a waitlist for a general psychologist and I feel so drained by these thoughts that I am looking for other alternatives

@Anonymous I feel you, hang in there :’( I hope it works out for you too. Living with OCD feels so overwhelming at times but don’t stop fighting

@Anonymous I’ve been struggling with so-ocd since May of last year, but my first experience with ocd was when I was 9/10 about health anxiety, which went on for about a year or so. Oh and I’m 19 now.

@blazed Did you have any traumatic health related experiences too? Like outside of ocd?

@Bellaisscared I can’t remember exactly because I was so young, but I know before the onset of my ocd I used to go to the doctor a lot for different issues so I think that’s where my anxiety stemmed from

@blazed I think I may do so slightly. My centered around getting breast cancer and being infertile mostly because I really want the chance to be a mother. I struggled with it on and off and still do its just that ocd has taken over now so it's not much of a struggle.

@Anonymous That definitely makes sense! OCD will always try to take anything meaningful from you but it’s so irrational. At least you have some relief from it, I know how difficult it is to deal with

@blazed Yeah. It doesn't make sense. I just realized that I had struggled with anxiety since age 10-11 but it went away and just started showing up differently.

@Anonymous Same here. I never realized that I struggled with anxiety when I was young, but only until so-ocd hit then I understood. For some reason this theme latches on a lot more than my previous ones
