Hello. Is there anyone who has both soocd and rocd?? I think I have both and right now with my soocd, I am afraid that I will just get up one day and decide to experiment or I secretly want to. But I don't and I have never actually wanted to even when my soocd got bad but now my brain is telling me to do so and I am afraid I will follow it and do so. Is there anyone who goes through this??
I used to have this present as commands and it is so terrifying. I also had the same fears of what if I’ll experiment later? What if I’m repressing it? For me, doing ERP every day, even when I didn’t want to or felt too anxious to start, was the key to reducing my anxiety about this.
This is me now. Its like my brain wants to do it. Like i cant even explain or understand. Like it really feels like i want to when i dont.
Relate to these doubts. Sometimes mine has said "I want .... " which was super scary and confusing. I try to remember thoughts aren't always true or really you.
@Anonymous Because it changes the thought from fear to being in control, which temporarily relieves pain. It’s like turning the thought from intrusive to acceptable, and I’ll even smile. I think I’m trying to rebel from the torture of my mind, but afraid I’m creating a part of me that’s not aligned with me.
Mine has gotten so bad that I have had to cope by making jokes and now I feel like I’ve convinced myself of something I knew for a fact wasn’t true about my sexuality-some days I feel like giving up because I’ve destroyed my relationship with my rocd. I think my brain is trying to protect me from dangerous people. I’ve been so uncomfortable that sometimes I do feel like I should just do what I don’t want to because it won’t leave me alone. But I know I would feel bad. But maybe not. Maybe I’m confused. See. When you start to cope with thoughts by making them not sound scary, they feel more real. I don’t want to act, but I feel like it’s some test and I’ve unfortunately given it power. I don’t know what to do.
It's going to feel that way. That is unfortunately the whole point of ocd. The doubt feels so real that you will lose who you are and may be tempted to do things that you won't do without it. And even though it easier said than done way easier said than done, you will have to accept the thoughts as just thoughts not actions or your true wants or desires.
@Anonymous If it does feel that way you could say I feel this way but I don't have to act on it. I can choose how to live and who to live with and be happy that way. It will be hard. Take it one day at a time.
Continuing to try and work out these thoughts and change your reaction and checking how your feelings change is all still getting trapped up in OCD's doubt trap. I get caught there too so I get it!

So I’ve SOOCD since I was in 8 th grade and it got really bad when I had an intrusive thought as to what if I was bi. And ever since then I’ve had self destructive behavior to where I would think the thoughts on purpose or about women and checking them out and flirting with them. ( I identify as straight) and over time these thoughts and self destructive behavior hasn’t bothered me and now they feel apart of me I know apart of it is ocd but also it’s me like me willingly looking at women and me wanting to have sexual thoughts or feel aroused and in reality if I never had ocd I would never think this way I could live without women and never sleeping with them I do have a bf and I love him and am attracted to him rn thought bc of what happened last night with a women it’s hard to feel that can anyone relate?
What’s your experience on: Losing opposite gender attraction? And, False attraction to same gender? I have both and I feel like I don’t know who I am. I can’t parent or be a husband due to the mass panic and anxiety. Just wanted to know if anyone has had both and regained theirself?
Heyy so has anybody ever experience in rocd like ur scared that what if u liked somebody else or had a crush on somebody else even tho u never had no romantic or sexual feelings for anybody else only ur bf but u still question urself?
