Instructive Thoughts Cycle
Whenever something embarrassing happens to me or whenever someone gets mad at me (especially when it was a misunderstanding) I can’t stop replaying it in my head. I can feel myself trying to let it go, but my brain tries to find every reason to hold onto the events that happened. I try the strategies to remind myself that “they are just thoughts”, but it always comes back to torture me. It’s like counterproductive because me thinking about letting it go is still me thinking about it. So it just stays in my head. Any advice?
