struggling with this theme currently. i am worried that i am secretly a lesbian and i am just leading my boyfriend on because i like his attention. i don't think this is actually true as i do truly love my boyfriend, but i'm worried anyways. my ocd is making me question if my love for him is romantic or just platonic.
Sorry to hear that you're going through such a hard time. As someone who has dealt with something very similar I understand where you are coming from. This may seem scary but try leaning into the thoughts here. For example maybe you are a lesbian maybe you aren't we will never know. Life is weird and the thoughts you have are normal it's how you react to those thoughts that really matter. Acknowledge the thoughts and treat them as small threats rather than large emergency thoughts. Like "huh that was a weird thought lol" who knows and trying to figure out these thoughts will just lead to more and more ruminating (questioning). Know that you can handle these tough thoughts and that you are stronger than your ocd. Hope that helps:)

I'm sorry you're experiencing this and I feel you. you're struggling with SO OCD so it's quite normal to have this thoughts and I know how it can be difficult. try to make things you really love and that remember yourself who you are, try to do meditation and to have therapy, it will help you. the point is not about the doubt, but is about our reaction to it and about the importance we do to our thoughts. I know it's difficult, I know, but with compassion and patience you can overcome this. wish you the best, you're not alone ❤️

Hi everyone! I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the way that I did about something related to SO-OCD… I’m finally discovering that I might have this sub genre of OCD and have had it for a very long time. I have always felt awkward around other women especially in more intimate situations (like changing in the same room, laying in bed together or giving compliments about looks). All of this hit me like a ton of bricks when I got into a relationship with my boyfriend 2 years ago and our sex life started to decline after about 9 months of us being together. It makes me feel extremely uncomfortable and I obsess over finding out why I have grown not attracted to him sexually. Am I a lesbian? Am I just depressed? Am I falling out of love with him? Was I ever in love with him? The list goes on and my obsession with it grows stronger. I’m so scared I will have to break up with him because I do love him and love spending time with him. I’m scared to start ERP therapy because I’m worried I’ll realize that it’s best to just let him go 😭
I recently started liking this girl. She likes me and It feels amazing. I’ve been dealing with SOOCD for a while now and I was scared when I first fell for her because I knew how badly my OCD was. My OCD has flared up so much since and it tells me I don’t like this girl or that I rather be with a guy. A lot of what if questions as well. I would like to know for those in relationships and struggling with Sexual Orientation OCD, how has this affected your relationship. I don’t want to feel alone in all this. I’ve had many themes before this one and OCD is telling me it’s different this time.
Hi! I am genuinely so happy and attracted to my boyfriend but cannot stop having extreme anxiety trying to figure out my sexuality. Some days I think I am sexually attracted to women and other days I don’t feel this way. How can I accept the uncertainty? Another part of this OCD is I obsess over what the queer community will think of me since I have limited experiences with women. I am so happy with my partner but the OCD is keeping me in fear of missing out. I keep constantly comparing myself to others and getting down that they have had more sexual partners. Seeing if I’m alone in this.
