Question about fluvoxamine?

@NOCD Therapist - Stacy Q. Is it possible to have it once when you were younger and have it come back as an adult ? Like as in one specific theme

@Anonymous - People with OCD often report symptoms coming and going- sometimes for very long periods of time- and for it to stick with 1 theme is possible as well. Though many people will have multiple themes, some will not.

@jonathan123147 Hi, thank you for the reply! I’m not on any other medications and I don’t drink alcohol, however my diet could stand to be much better. I do use delta-8 a lot but i haven’t taken it the past week and a half because I’m trying to stay away from that kind of thing.

@Greg2 Hi! So I got diagnosed with OCD sometime in 2020 after a 3 week hospitalization period, and surprisingly I have not heard anything about ERP until these last few months. The thought of it is very intimidating to me for some reason but from what I understand it’s a vital part to managing OCD..? How does it work? Is it just supposed to expose you to your triggers?

@mae borowski I am finding it hard to get a diagnosis I was in hospital with it but was told I was having anxiety with delusional thinking but I just think it's gone beyond this

@Anonymous Yeah I was in the psych hospital for 3 weeks in 2020 and they diagnosed me with a bunch of things that weren’t OCD, I was told I had schizoaffective disorder and anxiety disorder and like three other things. Then when I met with a psychiatrist after I got out she diagnosed me within a half hour of talking to me lol. It was very frustrating

@pharb Hello! ERP can be hard but it’s worth it. When you work with a therapist they will be able to craft a plan for you to ease into exposures. They won’t throw you to the wolves right off the back. It mainly works by exposing yourself to a triggering thought or situation and sitting with the anxiety and uncomfort instead of doing compulsions.
