I just got a flag on one of my posts saying ‘if you are in danger of harming yourself or others call 911’ and now I’m feeling 10 times worse, thanks a lot, I don’t know if it’s because someone flagged my post for whatever reason but it’s made me feel like There actually must be something wrong with the me now since why is it saying ‘I’m danger of harming others’ ??? I feel really upset now
Why is just any random person able to ‘flag’ your posts? Shouldn’t there be moderators on this app looking at all the posts to see if there is any problems, it’s unfair that some random person has flagged my post and now I’m feeling bad because it’s saying ‘if you are in danger of harming others call 911’ just feeding my worries that I’m bad
I said that on a post with no issue that is weird. It is true if you have a plan and means to carry it out then you need emergency services. However if it is just thoughts but you do not want to carry them out then it may be the intrusive thoughts. I had no idea that a post could be flagged with this app. It sounds like you were being well intentioned and if that person did not appreciate it then it sounds like their worries.
@Michelle93084 The thoughts I struggle with are about smothering and for many months I have been bothered by it stuck at a dead end because of this ‘feeling’ and then it’s been endless rumination for months rather than intrusive thoughts it’s more ruminating now, so one time when getting an intrusive thoughts about smothering I decided to deliberately imagine smothering someone to try to test myself (hoping I will get really anxious) some how It felt like when I imagined it, it felt like I knew how it felt to do that and that I ‘liked the feeling’ of imagining how it would feel to do that or that it could ‘feel good’ to do that and that scared me a lot but became a huge obsession and worry, it feels so real and feels like torture and that I can’t escape this problem now because of this ‘feeling’ then I started making it a habit to deliberately imagine those smothering thoughts to check how I ‘feel’ and if it feels like I ‘like the feeling’ and I know I wouldn’t want to do that but this feeling that makes me feeling like ‘I like the feeling’ or ‘feels good’ To do that is making me doubt everything and I’ve thought of every possibility like, what if I’m a good person who doesn’t want to do that but now I’ve discovered I ‘like the feeling’ and I will do that, I’ve hidden all the pillows behind the sofa and I avoid being alone with anyone because I’m worried I will be evil and then today I heard the front door shut and I thought I was home alone and then I remembered this problem and then started testing myself imagining these thoughts to see if I would do that or ‘like the feeling’ and it felt like I didn’t want to do that but like I ‘liked the feeling’ at the same time and then I was worried so I called my mum and she just went to the car so she came back and things were okay but then o started thinking what if the only reason I’m not being bad is because I’m not alone? Sometimes when I’m alone it feels really real and I’m worried I don’t know what to do I feel so trapped
@lu22 It sounds like a genuinely good person. Have you discussed this with your therapist? He or she may have better insight on how to guide you and how to handle those thoughts.
@Michelle93084 I feel so sad, why do I have to go through this, I was fine before and now it feels like my life is ruined and doomed. As soon as I think about that feeling or thought it instantly feels real and like a huge problem. I’m beginning to hate everything I feel so bitter about everything. I did have a therapist but one time I was struggling a lot and I reached out to them but they didn’t answer any of my concerns and instead told me to either book a sooner appointment or go to my local hospital, so I cancelled my therapy.
@lu22 I am so sorry you didnt have a good experience with a therapist were they with NOCD? I actually start Friday with them. I have been in therapy for many years to work on my other mental health issues (many different types of therapy) and now I am going to work on my ocd issues. I have several different issues that trigger severe panic and fear and I am hoping that exposure therapy will help me gain the tools to handle my fears and learn to overcome them.
@Michelle93084 Yes the therapist was with NOCD I have never had any other therapists either and now I just feel put off finding another therapist
@lu22 I understand I have had horrible experiences with therapists in the past. I had one that actually said I was a lost cause and I was a horrible person. I left his practice real fast and found another and was really happy with my next therapist. Maybe there is another therapist you can try. Sometimes we dont always mesh well with therapists and that is okay. I hope you know you are worth it.
@Michelle93084 I can’t believe he said that to you that is horrible. I’m worried to find a therapist as well because what if they think there is actually something wrong with me
@lu22 If it is an ocd specialist then they will know it is the disease speaking.
@Michelle93084 I’m worried, At the start this all happened because I watched a documentary about a killer and after watching it I started shaking from fear and for days I was shaking but now after over a year of going through this I’m literally believing I’m evil and with this ‘feeling’ it makes it even worse and believable and now I’m worried I will actually do that because now it feels like I ‘like the feeling’ of smothering someone when I imagine it and I’m worried and don’t know what to do 😞
Idk anymore it feels like being on here is a trigger. Every time I see a minor post on the app, my intrusive thoughts go haywire and then my brain says maybe you should comment something inappropriate and i literally don't wanna fucking do that. It's the last thing I want to do. And now im scared that I commented something crude on someone's post. obviously, when I went to check there was nothing now my brain is saying "you commented and then deleted". I want to think it's something I wouldn't do, but why are the images in my head so real. Children should be safe. I feel like I need to be locked away. Someone please help me.

17f Basically I made a post about POCD, saying that one phrase people often say as a reassurance is not true and it never helps me because I know it's not true. At the beginning of the post I made a warning, saying that this will be triggering for those with POCD. So I warned. And then in the comments someone started seeking reassurance and freaking out. And she said stuff that are not true again, at first I argued a bit cause well... I made a post and I wanted to defend my position, so I defended what I said. Like what I needed to do? Lie to her? Now i think that I should've just ignored that user But then after we talked she said that because of my post she now thinks she is a pedophile and will off herself and then spammed me with comments asking for reassurance At first I was trying to calm her down, saying that if her psychiatrist said that she has POCD then she is not a P and stuff, but then I just realized I can't do anything so I just replied to every one of her comments "I'm not a therapist. I can't help you. You need to seek professional help and shouldn't rely on the opinion of the strangers on the internet" Now I feel so guilty. I mean she was the one to start asking questions, and sometimes when I argue I feel too passionate to defend my position in the argument and forget about people's feelings so I said a very harsh truth to her after she started arguing with me and I made it worse for her Even though I knew how suicidal you can feel because of POCD I still argued
