Upsetting encounter with therapist
I had a terrible session with my therapist today. We have been doing CBT for a little over a year now working through a few different things. Today was the first day we really experienced therapy during an active OCD meltdown. I've had a hard week and was seeking help from my therapist to move forward out of the spiral. She ended our session by telling me people with OCD can become psychotic, that it does happen, that OCD gets worse and that I have to use my tools. That was the least helpful thing she could have told me, as I've been actively spiraling about harm ocd and fearing "going crazy" or losing impulse control. It was VERY hard for me to be honest with her, and now I just feel worse, worrying more about whether or not this is a common occurrence. Can anyone shed more light on her claim that people with OCD can become psychotic?
