@Tammyb Great!! Affirmations are very helpful for rewiring the brain and increasing the positive dialouge in your head. Their are affirmations apps or accts on social media , you can write them down or even make them your wallpaper!

Try to always stay in the present. What's happening now? What are you doing now, not what-if about something from the past. If you practice staying in the present, you take away OCD's power over you.

I know what you are going through. Kee6in mind that it's exactly what OCD wants you to do. OCD wants you to ruminate over it all day long. If you have an OCD therapist you can work through it. I mention an OCD therapist because s/he can give you the tools to work through the variations that may pop up when you get this one locked.

I've been where you are and found general therapy to be fairly useless. This is a unique disorder and requires a specialist highly trained in OCD therapy using ERP, which is the gold standard of OCD therapy. Once I switched to a trained OCD therapist using ERP I began to recover. They know us, better than we know ourselves. I found my therapist on the NOCD site. Why not contact NOCD for a consultation. It can't hurt.

Do you have insurance? How about family? The consultation is free. Last resort, you may qualify for insurance under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

This is a talking therapy. I don't know anything about the health care system in your country. Maybe you can request a therapist specialized in OCD therapy, using ERP? You would know better than I.

Iâm constantly thinking about what if I go crazy. No matter how good Iâm feeling the thought always creeps back in same with what if no one is real.I used to get anxiety from it but I donât really get it anymore as much which scares me.How long did this last for anyone who experienced this?I feel like itâs been going on for months and Iâm scared itâll never go away.

How do you guys handle uncertainty? I keep having so many what if thoughts and I feel so bad. The worst ones are what if I act on my intrusive thoughts or actually want them and I canât tell if theyâre me or not. It just feels so real and at this point I donât even know if theyâre intrusive thoughts anymore. I just want to not be a bad person and not feel like this anymore.
