I’m 20, it’s started when I was 15 for a year and a half and hadn’t come back until the last couple of months Triggering it was having a conversation in school with a group of us about if being gay is a choice or not. I’ve had multiple themes such as schizophrenia ocd, harm ocd, rocd and this theme. I would say my worst one is schizophrenia ocd and then this one. Yes, I’ve been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years. At times it’s felt so so real.

I can answer mine for you as well -started at 21 -Im currently 24 -triggered by my friend coming out as bisexual and leaving her boyfriend. then snowballed after I kept seeing tiktoks about woman discovering they are lesbians later in life after being with men. -Themes I have had, harm ocd, health ocd, schizoprenia ocd as well, rocd -but HOCD has been the worst following health ocd. -its been feeling way more real over these past few months but I've also been giving into way more compulsion. Groinal responses have gotten worse over time too.
-I'm 26 -Started at 19, almost 20 -I compared myself a lot to others who I saw attracted pretty girls and on one of those occasions I asked myself why I recognized one of them as attractive, to which I immediately panicked. -I think health anxiety and SO OCD basically, just a couple of years before soocd started I had symptoms that made me obsessed that I was going to die which were nothing, but I wasn't satisfied with the diagnoses, and it has jumped about 3 times between these topics (although sometimes I feel like I'm about to get hooked on another topic, it hasn't happened) - I don't know which is worse, when I went through the health clinic and I felt like I was going to die I said that was the worst, my life was compromised, they are close but soocd has completely devastated me -That not everything can be what it seems, if I explained to anyone what I went through, they would think that I want it but I don't want to accept it, it is very easy to reach that conclusion when you are not in the same shoes, it is not always what it seems. what happens aligns with the desires -No relationship - Groinals💀and loss of attraction (recipe for disaster) - End up acting accordingly just because it is what you have to do - Atm 100%, i feel lost
I am in recovery of my HOCD; however, it has been replaced by a different OCD theme. I have had about two major OCD themes. My new theme is a false memory OCD, and I must say that it is much worse than HOCD. It is important to note that everyone thinks their OCD theme is the worst. The ERP therapy worked wonders for me with the HOCD.
-I’m 23 -mine started at 14, right before freshman year. -what triggered it was my friends telling me that my former best friend came out as bi and now had a girlfriend. -I am in a relationship. -the worst symptom I’ve ever had was chest tightening feeling I was going to pass out. At the moment, it the constant thoughts that do not stop. -my most scary thoughts is that I won’t be able to control myself. -it feels very real.

I'm starting to believe I have had SOOCD since childhood. I remember having thoughts since as early as 7 that felt bad and wrong and made me sad and worried. Thoughts of being bisexual or lesbian still make me so unhappy and uncomfortable, but they also feel so deeply ingrained in me that I have a hard time knowing what my sexuality is. I felt forced to accept the fact that I was bisexual when I was an adult, even though it made me sad, but is that even true? Is dealing with this since childhood really just denial? Am I just gay? Or is ALL of it a lie and I'm straight? Maybe I'm asexual, and am not attracted to anyone? I can't sort it out in my head, my heart is breaking- my wonderful fiance has been so careful and kind as I process what is going on. Now the idea of having sex or attraction to ANYONE of any gender makes me panic and cry. He is so patient, but he doesn't deserve this, he deserves better than my panic attacks and doubt. Has anyone else had a theme since childhood? How have you sorted what IS real from what is NOT real, now that you know you have OCD?
I recently started liking this girl. She likes me and It feels amazing. I’ve been dealing with SOOCD for a while now and I was scared when I first fell for her because I knew how badly my OCD was. My OCD has flared up so much since and it tells me I don’t like this girl or that I rather be with a guy. A lot of what if questions as well. I would like to know for those in relationships and struggling with Sexual Orientation OCD, how has this affected your relationship. I don’t want to feel alone in all this. I’ve had many themes before this one and OCD is telling me it’s different this time.
