I'm aro/ace! I just wanted to know if there was anyone else who was the same sexual orientation or if they've dealt with SO-OCD? I've been quite comfortable with this sexual orientation, but I will be putting a trigger warning as I don't wish to accidently trigger anyone due to this post
I believe so yeah I think I have so-ocd but is hard to till with people saying sexuality is fluid it makes this that much harder because it feels so real and very convincing I feel like I have lost my attraction to women but it dont feel right to me I know I like women though just hate this so much
I'm so sorry you're suffering through this, please remind yourself how you were BEFORE this theme of yours kicked in, and if you're distressed, disgusted, and or even scared about something to the point of compulsions and obsessive thinking then its most likely OCD
Well I think I am it’s been going on for so long now though it’s hard to tell I tried to watch two guys kissing on you tube I felt uncomfortable and was gagging this is horrible man
It absolutely is and I can relate, sometimes I question my asexuality or aromatic because I can get false attraction or gronial sensations, but when you have those small moments of clarity through your OCD haze then it becomes much clearer. Trust yourself and stick by your morals and values
Dude I have never liked guys in that way only had feelings and or attraction it started when I was at work 3 years ago he said he can see why gay guys are happy they don’t have women in your life and the boom your gay on loop none stop I went in to shock felt alien and lost and still do dating women now is so hard because I have that nagging thoughts saying your lying to your self it made me suicidal I don’t feel like that any more but it’s still hard ngl
I understand the feeling of how hard this can become and how convincing this disorder can become to the point you think you're lying to yourself, but you have to remember that this is nicknamed the "doubting disorder" for a reason, think of it as an annoying neighbor that's constantly knocking at your door and just trying to get under your skin by shouting the more horrendous things at you

Yeah, that'll definitely trigger you, but please try to understand that your sexual orientation is meant to be COMFORTABLE to you and you solely. It's not meant to be distressing fearful, and or frightening. People who're comfortable with themselves are more scared of opening up about their sexual orientation rather than BEING their sexual orientation

So my ocd theme changed to sexual orientation ocd last December after I heard a popular video "hi, I'm Gibby" and I went like the Gibby sounds like "gay", then I started saying the phrase and over days, I started getting intrusive thoughts "I'm gay" .(I have had other ocd themes: (magical thinking ocd, symmetry ocd, health concern ocd, religious and spirituality ocd and harm ocd ever since I was 12, they just come and go)....I struggle with other conditions(ASD and bipolar disorder). I have never struggled with sexuality or questioned it because I have only liked males right from when I was in grade 1🥲...I still like them. SO-OCD is very frustrating because deep down I know I'm straight and there's no evidence I'm not but the intrusive thoughts and compulsions to get relief (the cycle) won't stop. I'm on fluoxetine(Prozac) and it did help my symptoms but lately I realised I'm more consumed with compulsions and idk but I think it's reducing the effects of the drugs?.. I see an attractive female and my mind goes like you found her attractive you must be gay or I want to go out and do sumn"what if you discover you like them or are gay" ...idk it's frustrating, very and I'm tired. I don't even get turned on by same sex or any😭that what even makes it more confusing.+ It's almost like I'm now hypervigilant when Watching videos or Instagram reels...it making me forget that finding someone physically attractive≠sexual attraction...idk if anyone gets me...(Rn my ocd themes are SO-OCD and religious and spirituality ocd) SO-OCD is frustrating, I'm tireddd...how can I never have struggled with sexuality for almost a decade and half but I'm having it now(it's started two months ago)...who has had/have this theme??
I can't look at 18+ videos, comics, etc. I am straight, but SO-OCD tries to make me think I am not And the thoughts turns to feelings, and makes me scared, uncomfortable, sad, because I know this is not me. And when I try to imagine myself being with the woman on adult videos, and comics, my OCD gives gronal response not at the girl, and it fills me with fear, and anxiety, I always loved, and was attracted to women but I can't and it caused me to be depressed, and I keep ruminating I keep trying to focus on her, but it's so bad that I avoid those all the time now. I am wondering has anyone gone through something like this, or currently is, and wondering how you have done to combat this!
I never read someone talk about this so I wanted to know if it applies to anyone as well. For context: I deal with ROCD and SOCD but I do identify as straight and am in a (happy) relationship with a man. What often triggers me is memories about childhood and adolescences about having the groinal toward nudity in porn or music videos. Because I can’t deny having watched other things than straight porn and experimenting with porn I simply can’t stop trying to figure out what that might have meant and if i deep down have actually a other sexual orientation than the one that I feel comfortable identifying with. I only hear people talking about random triggers but never the REAL memory of arousal to pornography and so on.
