Do you guys have one joint account, separate accounts, or a joint and a separate? Before I got married my husband and I said we’ll do separate, but then later he made comments about us being one, so we agreed to separate accounts and one joint savings. Now he said he’s spending too much money on us and we should have everything all together and I can keep like a thousand on my own account… we almost got divorced last year and I have a good amount of savings etc. and I am a little hesitant. It would probably make things easier since he always pays me back for all of the groceries I buy for him etc. Thoughts?

If he can’t save, then I wouldn’t move money into just one. He should look into Dave Ramsey’s money saving program and so should you.

@Nica Thank you! I’ve spent years saving, praise God. I put 50k of savings down on our new home, and we both split our mortgage. I’ll talk to him. Thank you.

My wife and I have had joint checking and savings. We budget together as well, or try to. I wouldn't say there's a one size fits all for every couple, however there are certainly biblical principles for our direction. The mention of being close to divorce is a concern as well and tells me there may be other issues you can improve on. Too many times finances become a weapon between spouses, when it should be a tool to use for God's purposes. (Wish I was as good as it as I may sound, lol)

Have I liked my husbands friends

Has anyone else ever struggled with if they liked their husbands friend in the past? Actually a mutual friend. He’s got qualities I would go for in a different life in different situations, I’m sure I’ve had thoughts about it. But never wanted to pursue anything or leave my husband. So now with confessing things to my husband I tell him this but also say I “don’t know” if I actually liked them or just liked qualities like you woulf with anyone. But, I have this guilty feeling in my stomach, is it ocd doing that or is it bc I know I liked him more then a friend. My husband says I should know, I know what it’s like to like someone. But I really feel like I can’t tell the difference so I just want to assume I did and clear the air. But my husband says I can’t just assume the worst all the time.

35 and pausing life

I feel bit vulnerable to share this, but I feel it's important to voice a struggle i'm having (in case others are too). Per my current journey, i've decided (and have for quite some time) to not try and pursue relationships until I have figured out my "inner self" and have some more stability in my mental health. I think there's a common belief in society that getting into a relationship will solve all my problems cause i'll be happier with where I am instead of feeling lonely. I guess for me being aware of it is the first step- I have ambitions to have a partner/start a family- but I realize that takes a lot of emotional capacity and I feel I'm just not at a point where I can handle it. It sucks because it seems to go against what society is telling me to do, but I keep on reminding myself that is about my well being and mental health.

Having children and OCD

Something I’m really struggling with is the thoughts of having a child. My husband and I got married last year and always planned to have kids. I am currently experiencing an OCD “flare” and I’m wondering how ethical it is for me to have a child knowing I may pass this condition on. Any insight is appreciated!
