Has anyone here used BetterHelp? My dad had a talk with me last night and he wants to help me get therapy. I feel so bad for him to pay for it, I should be doing it for myself by now, I donāt want him to be wasting money because I know itās expensive and Iām worried. I donāt have an official diagnosis of any kind and Iāve never seen a therapist before. I worry if I can be helped.
Sometimes BetterHelp will ask if you need extra financial assistance or if you're low income. Don't feel bad or embarrassed about getting therapy or even seeking out resources! I have been there and had literally ZERO money to my name besides what I'd use to pay for BetterHelp and they worked with me once or twice on payments; however, I haven't used them in a few years, so I'm not sure how they are now. If you don't click with a therapist or if you feel like you should change your therapist, you can do that.

@JenniesOCDBrain I just wanted to thank you for recommending this to me. Itās helping me until I can get help from a therapist. I have moments where I get really worked up and I feel trapped and it has helped me to calm down a little bit during those moments. Thank you!
Iāve been debating on it for a whileā¦ mainly because of how expensive it is..
I think one of the hardest parts about getting help (besides the high cost) is telling my parents I want help. Iām not sure how to approach it. Iām asian. My mom has always said, āwestern therapy does not work on eastern mindsā. I get that, and I donāt want to feel judged or questioned when I say I want help. I also donāt want them to worry about me too much, I think thatās my biggest concern. I donāt want it to be awkward. However aside from these feelings, I know that I need it and I know that itās whatās best for me. I donāt want to keep this feeling in anymore as I have for years. Iām excited for what this new year has to offer for me.
Is NOCD super expensive? I told my dad I really need some help and he offered to help me find online therapy. I have looked at betterhelp a little bit nervous they canāt help me, has anyone used them? Any other recommendations. I have no diagnosis of anything and never been to a therapist so I donāt even know if this is actually OCD that Iām dealing with. Iām dealing with intrusive thoughts and images, ruminating a lot on the past and worried I was a really bad person in my teens without realizing. I donāt know where to go to find help, my father is paying so I donāt want his money to be wasted and I have no idea what to do.
