They call this the “doubting disease “ for a reason. It makes you doubt who you are and question reality. Did I do this? Turn off that? Was that really a bump in the road or a person? What if I act on that crazy thought? Learning to not take our thoughts at face value is hard when they come with anxiety or that creepy feeling. Just remember OCD comes with intrusive thoughts that are upsetting, unwanted and go against our values otherwise they would not upset us. Hang in there you can learn OCDs tricks and see through them.

Just scared of telling these things to my new psychiatrist cause I am aware they are crazy but it's like I almost believe them but don't? Idk if that makes sense.

That’s OCD. The obsessions( fears) are called themes. I’ve had OCD since I was a child and grew up very religious and those were my very first themes that I was aware of. OCD is very repetitive. It’s fascinating to see how many ppl have the same irrational fears as you do. Just get into some therapy, practice disregarding/ ignoring the thoughts and do not engage with the themes. The more you feed it the more it will grow. You need to show your brain that those are nothing to be afraid of then anxiety will subside.

Thanks! I'm just scared of saying these "delusions" almost to a therapist because they scare me and I don't want them to see me like I'm psychotic.

@Snakeu33 Yes it is! OCD is a chronic condition. It can get really scary. I have lost weight because of it in the pass from feeling sick/ anxious. The symptoms can make you feel like you’re going into psychosis (I’ve thought this myself and almost called the psychiatric ward on the job one time). Seeing a therapist was a life changer for me.

@Mimi33 Hey, how much would you say you have felt better? With the religious ocd? I'm having a really bad day today, there a lot of doubts that shouldn't be doubts and I don't mean any of them. I'm gonna see a psychiatrist Monday. Do you have any tips?
