I went to a psychiatrist and believe me, they have seen so many different profiles and have seen before many people with harm ocd. You don’t have to be afraid of telling your urges, after all, their profession is to help you to feel you better. For example, I went to a psychiatrist and when I told her everything (thoughts, images, beliefs, urges etc…) she directly told me that she managed to heal other people that had the same symptoms as me (coming from harm ocd). Indeed, she told me that she had more experience treating people than me living my life if that makes sence (I’m a student and she was an old psychiastrist). However, I do understand that it is not easy to say it all, it is complicated to verbalise our feelings so if you don’t feel confortable to open, don’t do it. Nonetheless you’ll see that if you open yourself, you’ll get the help you need. Moreover, you’ll see that the psychiatrist won’t treat you as someone bad but as someone who is struggling wth harm ocd. You shouldn’t be worried!

Thank you! For some reason I keep thinking they won't know symptoms of OCD! It's just a regular psychiatrist. But gotta start somewhere I suppose.
