I just got back on Sertraline after trying to wean off of it for a year. I felt guilt taking medication and even my sister said if I was sure I wanted to take it. But my mom who has diabetes said, would you shame someone with diabetes for taking medication? It’s okay to need extra help. You’re not alone!

I’m in the exact same boat! I was on Effexor for a year but I’m also more holistic and I was ashamed to give into meds. Now I’ve been off of it for a couple of weeks and ashamed to think I may have to go back to it because I also feel like I don’t want to be on it forever

Don’t be ashamed. I’ve been on OCD/anti depression meds most of my life. I be sure I have a full prescription every month because it helps with my intrusive thoughts. I was around 9 when I started on the meds. Now I’m almost 44. No doubt I will be on these meds til the day GOD takes me away from this life

If they help without side effects then absolutely keep taking them. If you feel you need to wean off them then talk to your doctor on how to do it properly and incorporate magnesium/VitD/GABA + a methylated multivitamin into your daily routine you’ll do your body and mind a favor
