Does anyone have intrusive thoughts at that are sounds ? I have brought this up numerous times and can’t figure out with this is a compulsion or obsession. Right now it is a siren I repeat in my head for some reason and it’s driving me crazy. Really worried it’s something worse. I just want a clear head.
I have this but im not sure if its my OCD or my ADHD or whats happening. I have repeated sounds and words CONSTANTLY. And they are so loud and irritating
@Vilkas Totally agree . When it’s loud it overtakes what I’m trying to do during the day
Focus on something else
I’ve been there!! I think I just kept getting distracted and it would stop
It happens to me as well. I try and focus on another sound that’s calming. It will pass, but takes time.
@Tee81 Thanks for feedback ! Is it just an anxiety symptom ? I am trying to just put my finger on “why” but I guess that’s part of the ocd !

I have had this before. Stop focusing on it and it will slowly go away. Don’t panic
@Youarenotyourthoughts Is the solution letting it be there and it slowly fades if it holds no significance ?
@Mike0310 Yes exactly. I know it’s very scary. When it happened to me the first time, I was like wtf?! Am I finally losing it?!

@Lilly2442! Still there . More of me not being able to stop repeating it. Like a nervous response/ mental compulsion. Depending on what is triggering me it can get more intense.

@Lilly2442! It does . When I am fully immersed in something I’m not thinking about it because I’m zoned in on what is catching my attention. When I’m bored or anxious and not busy ? It’s there .
@Mike0310 when I hear a noise it gets stuck, until another noise gets stuck, but it does pass. but it causes so much anxiety and makes me think I’m going into schizo.
@Lilly2442! I know the feeling. Again this is our irrational fear. While it is intense , it gets less severe when not giving it so much importance.
I’ve had many types of OCD, but I gained control over them over the years, but a new one has started to arise. Do y’all ever have scary thoughts about something you might do? Recently I’ll get extremely uncomfortable no matter where I am because I can’t stop thinking about “what if I screamed really loud in my lecture class tomorrow?” And other stupid stuff like that. Also, this one is kind of funny, but sometimes when I use the bathroom I pause before because I think “what if I’m actually in class right now?” I also cannot control the thoughts about past embarrassing moments. I know everyone does, but I will become visibly uncomfortable and harp on something from years ago. This happens all throughout the day. Also, does anyone else do things that resemble tics when you get these thoughts. Like when they happen I’ll curse under my breath or like jerk my head a little bit. When I’m in public I keep it low key but when I’m alone sometimes I’ll physically get up and pace or something when those thoughts happen. Just curious if anyone has had these experiences
Hoping someone can answer this question 🙏 I have social anxiety so when I go out crowded places I have thoughts more like I feel people would be judging me etc but these thoughts don’t bother me so much & there not usually loud like my suicidal intrusive thoughts are. Now the only thing that concerns me is why are my s thoughts so loud and the most convincing when I could have a thought about anything else and I just forget it and move on? But with my s thoughts I get stuck on them and try to figure out what they mean , Is this a sign of OCD?
My ocd them has gotten worse and I’m trying my hardest to not look for reassurance. Why does my mind play these tricks on me that I’m saying my thoughts out loud????? I’m trying my hardest to ignore it but it’s making me depressed. When I’m ignoring it my brain will go to “everybody will talk about you” “you said something bad” “you said it out loud and when you’ll live a terrible life”. I don’t know what to do anymore
