Does anyone else’s ocd tell them their kid is ugly and it feels like maybe I really think that?! Like. Ugh. I just was so in love with my other two and now I feel bipolar bc I don’t love my kids like that anymore 😭 I do my best to be the same loving mom but my mind says all kinds of negative things to me now.
You are not your thoughts . Thoughts are just thoughts.
@Bluerose316 Yes and I say that to myself sometimes but this particular thought can be heart wrenching as connection to my children seem very important. To life in general.
@Layla32 You love your kids most that’s why ocd is bringing those thoughts . When you go through this something I do is I pray for them to be blessed.
You are a great mom, just by worrying about them means how much you love them, don't be so hard on yourself , your kind and you will be good (:
@Anonymous Yes I know. I tend to forget how well I do take care of them. It’s just so been so long with the debilitating anxiety with the ocd and trauma. It’s kinda scary really how I know who I was before and the traits that I did have that were positive and it seems so far away now but it’s getting better.
Ocd is a bully in general don’t listen to it
@Mel3 Very difficult at times when it pricks the depths of who you used to be or desire to be.
Try to remember you have OCD, you have postpartum. As someone else said, the fact that it bothers you so bad shows how much you care, regardless of thoughts or feelings. Just keep doing the best you can. Keep doing the next thing.
@ElevenB I guess I def forget this in the moment. I think I’m so used to being a positive person and my thoughts were so uplifting probably more than negative actually.. the disconnect I feel a lot can really make this feel even more supportive of the thoughts. I am proud of myself though bc I keep living mostly despite what I think now. We went on a little trip and my anxiety was telling me you can’t do that. It will end up bad and it hasn’t ! It’s not been great bc of restlessness but I’ve done really well and that’s just helping me move forward and not to be so afraid.
@Layla32 See there. You are improving. It might not be at the speed you want, but Layla you can do this. I am very proud of you.
i was in target and saw this kid who looked like my nephew and i didn’t a double take because i thought it was him i was gonna go say hi to him. it wasn’t him, but then my OCD intrusive thoughts popped in and made me want to throw up and run away and hide. it popped in my brain and i was immediately disgusted with myself. i wouldn’t ever do anything to harm a child. WHY IS MY BRAIN LIKE THIS I JUST NEED A BREAK.
Does anyone’s cute aggression spiral their pocd 😞 i feel like i can’t even playfully squeeze , pinch , play bite my kid without the ocd twisting it … What makes it worse is when i try to “fight” the ocd and continue on doing what im doing , it doubles down convincing me that i am now CONSCIOUSLY acting on something. Does this make sense to any parents on here? 😢
It was all your POCD they say, but now I'm like is it just a cover up. The feelings were SO REAL feeling in the moment. I feel like the friends who have told me it's OCD isn't even true anymore. It felt so real but I asked my child to move so it didn't happen again. I was scared. Thought I was going to be taken away. I've been ruminating for a month now. I've been feeling sick like I don't deserve to be her mom. Ugh I hate this.
