i saw videos on tiktok that people who would pray would end up being gay and i have been praying everyday that i don’t end up gay. I don’t want to be gay but i’m scared that i’m gonna end up changing my mind. What do i do?
Take a deep breath, you’re going to get through this. Use the SOS feature on this app. You’re compulsively praying which is making your OCD worse rn. I know it feels like praying will prevent your fear from coming true, but it actually has the opposite effect in the long run. You have to let the thoughts and feelings come and go without reacting or judging them. The more you try to figure them out, the more they’ll keep resurfacing. Also, don’t take things on TikTok (or anywhere) at face value bc anyone can say anything like that. It doesn’t mean it’s true, it’s just someone’s opinion.

@Anonymous 224 - idk i seen people on tiktok who have cured from HOCD, your purposely looking at these stop. firstly you dont know what they have been through, they prolly like gay porn for all we know.

@Anonymous 224 Praying is fine, nothing wrong with that! However, when you’re doing it compulsively, that’s when it becomes a problem bc you’re fueling OCD by doing that. That’s what’s keeping you stuck in the OCD cycle.

I had this problem for a very long time, I used to pray every night as a child that I wouldn’t be gay. I felt certain that I was gay and was terrified of myself and what might happen. I look back now as a straight women with a boyfriend that doesn’t think much about it anymore. I also grew to understand it’s not the end of the world you can like anyone and u get to an age or a point where u understand it’s not a big deal at all. The media and the world has a lot of ways of making people question their sexuality that doesn’t work well with those of us who have anxiety because we think to much into it, and get extremely worked up about it. But I can assure you your OCD is what’s making you think you’re gay, if you feel that u don’t want to be gay it’s probably because you’re not. I’m with you and praying for you. You’re not alone in this thought.

@Anonymous 224 The fact that you are having such fearful thoughts about something that to most people isn’t a big deal tells me you probably do. And it’s just your thoughts that are taking over your brain weather u see it that way or not it is not you, you are probably not gay, just anxious
@Anonymousteengirl Don’t put so much blame on yourself or think so low of yourself, you are okay and are gonna be okay, u have nothing to be afraid of no matter what outcome you are gonna be okay.

I read something where someone had TOCD and they actually became the opposite sex. I don’t want that to happen to me . I keeping begging god that I go back to normal . It’s freaking me out all of this . I literally feel like my heart is popping out of my chest because every time I get images of myself as the opposite sex I feel like a different person. I look unrecognizable, I feel sad . And I know if I did something like that I would regret it . But I really don’t know at the same time . I can’t do this . I’m supposed to see my psychiatrist today and I’m so afraid of what she will tell me
Hi there, I am looking to get some support and advice, I recently started to suffer from SO-OCD due to tiktok. My feed started to have videos " if you did this or thought this you are gay" or videos of girls coming out later in life. I have never questioned my sexuality and have always been with men, I find it triggering as some of the things mentioned in the videos, I agree with but never thought it could mean I was gay. It had made me question everything and made me try to look back on the past to see if there were any evidence of this. I am nowhere near homophobic, but this is not the life I want for myself, so why is my mind so fixate on these thoughts if this is not who I identify nor want. I also struggle with ROCD Any advice or support would be greatly appreciated! xx
A girl on tik tok basically confirmed my biggest OCD fear of being gay. Her video said “if you feel a certain way about {masculine female athlete}, you’re not straight. This is your sexual awakening.” Iv ALWAYS been triggered by this female athlete because she is an open lesbian and very masculine and I get intrusive thoughts and feelings that i absolutely HATE. Im so triggered right now because now OCD is saying this is more than intrusive thoughts/feelings and is actually sexual attraction. I absolutely hate the thought of me being gay.
