does anyone else suffer from tics? i have this horrible urge to clear my throat about every couple of minutes, and blink my eyes like crazy. it makes me really anxious and is triggered more when i’m anxious. its really tough for me to navigate.
Yes. I literally get the urge to roll my eyes to the back of my head and have to keep doing it haha. It’s just one of those things we have to ignore and it’ll go away eventually
Me too. I also have the tic that makes me clear my throat constantly and when I try to ignore it the urge becomes super intense like it’s all I can focus on. I also have a tic that makes me jerk my shoulders a bunch. Definitely sucks! However I do think we will get over it- when I was a pretty young I had another throat clearing tic. My parents would tell me to cut it out because it was so constant, but they realized when they stopped pointing it out so much and making me think about it, it stopped and eventually the tic completely went away.
Yes I have a lot. I rub my fingers together and it pulls my nail bed down that’s the one I do the most
I have full body tics, neck, writhing, sniffing, face tics.. had no idea it was OCD related until joining NOCD!
I feel like every time I get a negative emotion like anxiety or anger or frustration or stress a gross sexual or violent though will automatically generate in my mind and I’m pretty sure I’m doing that on purpose and also flexing my (tmi) vagina muscles every time, this is all day even when I’m working. If I don’t think the bad thought/maybe flex the muscles I feel anxious or something like it’s a compulsion to relieve anxiety, but a bad one. Am I a sicko? I think I flex muscles sometimes as an emotional reaction but is it like sexual AND when I’m thinking those bad thoughts probably intentionally ? But also it could just be ocd or is it some kind of Tourettic ocd or rarer one? I really don’t know what to do or how to help myself
This is so hard to explain so bear with me. After having violent intrusive thoughts and urges for a long time, sometimes when I'm really anxious I won't get obsessed with a particular thought/urge but moreso all of them combined. It feels like I need to release the urge and just do something. My mind RACES and it's like "do this, do that, so something to release this pent up anxiety" And I get so scared I need to like lock myself in a room or I feel like I need to be in a hospital where I'm restrained to prevent myself from doing one of these things. It's like the disorder has advanced so far that it's not 1 thought at a time anymore, it's like all of them and then some during an episode. Again it's so hard to articulate.
Happening rn so kinda curious to if anyone else experiences this sheeeesh Does anyone get physical anxiety with the absence of really anything to be anxious about or any trigger/ intrusive thought I just randomly will get shaky, fidgety, feel a bit nauseous, not able to focus on one thing, doing a bunch of compulsive tendencies despite not getting intrusive thoughts at that moment Idk it came on really randomly today alongside a big slice of guilty pie 🥧 where I felt like I don’t talk to my parents enough despite calling them both literally every day. I’m tiredddd
