Why women who look like men (especially with short hair)/androgynous and tomboy women trigger my HOCD so much?? ? I always get so anxious and nervous about them and my HOCD labels it automatically as attraction even I don‘t feel comfortable with it. The last time, I really felt so uncomfortable around such women ? it’s not their fault, my HOCD is just hell

I once was atracted to a woman who was androhynous. But i think it was from the fact that androgynous women have more testosterone .

i know i’m late, but i just joined. i thought i was the only one who felt this way! because for some reason they make me so much more anxious and trigger my hocd so much more than girls who dress and look like girls. then i started to wonder omg am i attracted to them or something because they dress how i like boys to dress and i feel like if i find one pretty that omg attracted to her and then i get scared that if i were to become friends with her i would catch feelings because she acts like a boy. it’s so scary and i thought i was the only one

@MentalHelp wow i am so glad i’m not alone. that was one of the things that made me feel like what i had was different from everyone else and made me think it wasn’t hocd and i was just in denial. that’s not the case.

yea maybe but it still freaks me out because even people who i know are lesbian, but don’t look like it i guess you could say, don’t trigger me as much as the tomboy women

it’s almost like my hocd tells me i can’t think she is attractive without being attracted to her. but tbh even the ones who aren’t that good looking freak me out. my god this sucks

and i try to tell myself that there’s a difference between noticing when someone is attractive and being attracted to someone and yea i don’t get the same feeling when i notice that they are attractive as i do when i am attracted to a guy but it’s so scary to me and my ocd tells me “you’re attracted to her”

@kaysf really exact the same here! And I absolutely understand the point with the fear of getting friends with them because your HOCD makes you fear that you catch feelings!! I know what you mean, I feel so uncomfortable around them and become so nervous when I see one

No, same here! I think these kind of women trigger my HOCD fear because (unfortunately) the society has put stereotypes on them and made them the „typical lesbian“ (shortcut hair, boys style) that‘s why my brain is like: oh, a lesbian (maybe she isn‘t, but my brain/HOCD tricks me into believing this) and says things like „you find her attractive!“ just because I have these feelings of nervousness

How do you define „it feels like a crush.“ ? In my opinion, feelings are not all, you can define yourself and what you want just by feeling, in my opinion it’s also about wanting and our own choice.

@ta Then I think it’s more like HOCD. It‘s normal to feel nervous and have these „weird“ feelings who sometimes feel similar to having crush. But if it doesn’t feel good, it’s NOT what you want. You have the choice!!
