Does anyone else get an insane surge to pee before bed even though you just peed? I got out the showered and peed and have been in bed maybe 20-30 mins and can’t seem to fall asleep because my brain keeps telling me I have to pee. But other parts of my brain say no because of my bathroom contamination fear.
ive had this issue a lot even throughout the day. my brain is always telling me that i have to pee. i have to just try and go on with my day. As far as at night, it's really hard because you're trying to sleep, but i usually just eventually fall asleep. The compulsion for me was to keep going to the bathroom but it would help for a little bit and then my brain would tell me I needed to again. You have to just try your best to resist the compulsion, unless you actually have to pee, then face the contamination fear.
Yaa this happened with me when I overcame my urine infection but due to OCD i still had these obsessions about peeing even though I just had but my mind kept saying maybe your urine infection is not gone and your feelings of peeing are true but it was 2 years earlier and these are false signals actually and until u really feel the desire to pee without confusion then only go for peeing because see when we really have to pee we are unable to control that feeling but this is your OCD confusing you because of your contamination fear
i’m so obsessed with emptying my blatter completely to the point where i sit on the bathrooom for 30 mins literally forcing myself to pee as much as possible even if it brings me pain. and then after i finish and go back into my room i feel like my ocd might be tricking me and making me think i have to use the bathroom and pee AGAIN! even tho i just spent 30 minutes in there. and recently i always get up and use the bathroom again and everytime i go i literally barely even pee. and sometimes i don’t at all. and it’s so annoying bc the second i go back to bed it physically feels like i have to go pee and it’s so hard to ignore the feeling and convince myself that it’s just in my head so these past times that this has happened i always end up giving in and getting up to use the bathroom. i’m literally feeling like getting up and usuing the bathroom rn again after spending 30 minutes in there and i’m finding it so hard to not go. i feel like after j finish typing this i’ll go straight to the bathroom. idk how to deal with this
Had a shower this morning, and while I was drying off I had one of those muscle spasms that I get a lot, the ones where brain goes, "omg did we just pee?", the ones where... nothing ever happened. Always dry, and I do check, probably too much. I told myself, "no, it's fine," and continued. Patted down that area with the towel a few times, smelling in between. The first couple times, nothing, just towel smell. The third time was different, not necessarily pee smell, but brain is confused. So now I am afraid I am contaminated all over my body with "pee germs," or "pee," and I am afraid to leave my bed lest I contaminate the house too. I don't really think I leaked anything after my shower, but the fear is real... and potential shame of "knowing" those kinds of germs will be on furniture, my mother, and potential guests... and that I was just too lazy/scuzzy/etc to shower again. I am getting so tired of this. The thing is I don't genuinely know if there's a problem so I don't know what action to take. If I shower again, the next time I have those spasms while drying off--which will probably happen the very next shower--it will start this cycle again. Not to mention "is the towel contaminated..." This happened last night too but I moved on, thinking "I'm dry and wearing clothes, it's fine. It was probably just water." I lysol'd the downstairs/my couch (avoided sitting on the "main" couch, which belongs to mom) and other stuff when I got home from work last night, so now brain thinks it's legit... I feel like I should just bite the bullet and not shower. But I'm scared and TOO OLD FOR THIS NONSENSE.
Anyone have any intake or advice on what to do with regards to trying to sleep but your OCD won’t stop having you think that emptying your bladder before bed even though you know it’s empty but your mind doesn’t think or feel right about it so you go repeatedly and develop a cycle?
